Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
this is his 2nd to last game in the nba, 14pts 11 assists, he had 14 assists in the previous game, both wins and both games he started

now people want him to be waived or retire, this is the same as when delly came back into the lineup for the bucks down 0-2 against the celtics, he helped shut down rozier, played well, the crowd chanted his name at one point but they lost game 7 in boston then before a game was even played next year the bucks fans wanted him gone

Delly has a lot of miles on his tires. He isn't the same guy he used to be four years ago. I've noticed he wasn't on the Cavs road trip, and I just hope that he is back on the bench when the Cavs play tomorrow.

But as long as the Cavs need a spark, Delly is going to be an extension of the coaches. He has more to give this franchise before he hangs up the high tops.

yes ill just remind everybody that 85% of what delly does is bring out the inner delly in all the other players he is playing with, so its not about his condition

that bucks-celtics series i was talking about, it was going downhill really fast then delly finally makes his appearance to save them, suddenly jabari parker is playing great defense, thon maker is blocking 5 shots in a row, everybody playing hard

i could make a strong list of delly teams that went on amazing in-game runs especially in nba playoff games, just to remind everybody who you are talking about

game 6 vs chicago 2015: delly played the entire last 32 minutes and the bulls only scored 36 more points in that game including the garbage time relaxation portion

game 6 vs toronto 2017: bucks season on the line down 25pts late in the 3rd quarter, delly hits some shots then was in everything, crowd chanted his name, toronto turned it over 7 times, score went from 71-46 to 74-59 and then 78-80, the only problem was the comeback was complete but there was still a few minutes left to go and toronto won in the end

game 3 vs toronto 2017: bucks go on 30-9 run with delly to take a 50-19 lead midway through 2nd quarter

game 3 vs golden state 2015: the power of the delly again strikes the mightiest of opponents and cleveland go on amazing run to lead by 68-48 with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter

If Delly retires, its a medical retirement. Has nothing to do with him as a player or anything. He had a very serious concussion before, now he has another one. I am more concerned about him as a person, not just a player.

I could care less about our roster and injuries. Adversity is a great lesson for young players to learn and our young players are learning how to step up through adversity.

But in no way should Delly risk permanent damage to continue playing, that said i am not a doctor or have any knowledge beyond this is a very serious head injury and i love Delly so i wish him healthy for him and his family. Some things are bigger than basketball, this is one of them.

If Delly retires because of this concussion, doesn't he get the rest of his salary (paid by way of insurance?)
It may be the best option for him and the Cavs here, opens up a roster spot.. they can slide Delly over to a coaches chair.

He would get the rest paid for by insurance & we would likely get an injured player exemption.

Maybe he is really doing a medical related retirement but waiting if Cavs can use his contract as a trade chip? Is that allowed by the league rules, trading somebody who is gonna retire via medicals?

Seems like every day he doesn't play, the more likely he retires. He hasn't been with the team on the sidelines right?

He has had a lot of concussions. If this one was bad. He should retire.
