Mattresses

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nectar has also been great for me.

For overall value and reviews, Nectar has made it to the short list. Is the edge support as bad as some people mention though. if your sitting on the edge of it does it droop significantly?

absolutely love our Novaform Serafina Pearl Gel Memory Foam Mattress from costco. A king was like 700 dollars (sale going on right now). Ours is now 5 years old and still going very strong.

Is about a 90% version of Tempur Pedic

Highly highly recommend, especially for the price.

edit: Also i cant stress this enough, go to a mattress store and just lay on a couple of them. You dont realize the different in mattresses until you lay on one you hate.

That Serafina Pearl looks good and Costco has it for 150 off but they’re sold out of Queen size at the locations near me.

The Mattress Firm stores near me carry the Leesa Orginal so I’m probably going to go lay on that to make sure that all foam works for me as who shifts a lot between side and back sleeping

I have a beauty rest black which was intially great but we are at 5 years and has a mild center dip (Which is not from anything going on that I am party to... :0) It cannot be flipped either.

My youngest son has a purple and swears by it. He is very active on it, and has had it four years?

We also have an Ikea Bed Frame with the arched slats and a Haugsver firm matress in one of the guest rooms, which I like a lot. It gets little use but is very comfortable.
Feel like I’ve known your family for years now with this information.

I have noticed that some mattress reviews focus on Inner Soring mattress having more “bounce” to them and therefore being better for “physical activities” than foam.

I recommend an adjustable base. Raiding your head even a bit makes a big difference. Worth spending more for a quality mattress / base as even an expensive set is not more than $2 or so a night over 10 years. Definitely go to the store and try them out.

So this story is from 5 years ago, but it probably still applies.

We did a massive amount of research and basically decided we would want the more firm mattress. However in store only sells the medium grade firmness, although it is about $100 dollar less than online. We decided to give the instore version a try just to see if we could save some money, and it was way too soft. We slept on it for about a month before we bought the more firm one online. Costco is great and took back the used mattress no questions ask.

I've gotten most of my mattresses lately at the Original mattress factory. Good quality and the prices are really good.

My girlfriend and I laid on a purple mattress at a store 2 weekends ago. It was awesome. I kinda want one now

The only reason I didn't buy Purple years ago was there were some complaints about the powder they use--basically, to keep everything in that weird rubber matrix kosher, there's a fine powder sprinkled across the entire thing, and some people had issues with it.

That was like 5+ years ago. I don't know if it's still an issue.

Ok gang, the riveting discussion everyone has been clamoring for, or me just trying to crowdsource some help buying a new mattress.

As nasty as it sounds, maybe some of you relate to not buying your own brand new mattress until way into your 30's(or beyond). Inherited ones, hand. me downs, ones that come with the girlfriend, ones that came with the apartment. In any event, the one I inherited from a relationship ten years ago needs to be replaced.

There are way too many mattress choices. Price wise, I'm in the $500-$2,000 range. Sweet spot being in the $800-$1200 range. Would go higher or lower for that right combination of quality and value. Looking mostly at memory foam and hybrids. Any recommendations, advice, or horror stories? Brands I've looked at so far include Leesa, Saatva, Nectar, NovaForm, Purple and a ton of others(so I guess mostly the mattress in a box companies so far)

Appreciate any thoughts and discussing on this.
The only one that can answer the best mattress for you is you. When I buy a new mattress, I spend hours at the store just laying on them. I tell the salesmen to come back every so often to check on if I am ready, it'll be the easiest commission they will ever get.

I will tell you there are issues with these memory foam ones that you can't test. Mainly lack of bounce. Doesn't sound like much of an issue, but then you fuck on it, and it's a workout.

Second this for sure... we've had an adjustable base for about 4 years now and will probably never go back. It was a lifesaver when we were both bedridden following various surgeries.

We have a Serta mattress. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

Did you and your girlfriend break the mattress in with the audience watching?
