Maurice Clarret "Moment of Claretty"

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
he did a lot of explaining on twitter during the film last night....and made everything make more sense. I honestly felt bad for him, he didn't deserve to be kicked out of OSU

If he wasn't kicked out, both he and OSU would have paid the price.

Anyone know if ESPN will be airing this again? Missed it due to my satellite being out almost all night last night.

Looks like it will be on tonight at 8:30 on ESPN and tomorrow at 8 on ESPN2.

It's on ESPN right now and will air again at 8:30pm.

I hate how they always fuck over your DVR when the previous event goes long.

I thought that this was a great episode, but as someone who gives absolutely no shits about college football, the story I wanted to see was Williams and Clarett vs the NFL. How both the NFL and the NCAA were able to own courtrooms which enable their system to thrive. The one and done system works for college basketball, but not for football. Clowney would have gone 1.1 last year but has to come back and play for free. Winston would be the #1 pick but can't come out this year. it wasn't so much that Williams and Clarett lost either, it was that they had won, were preparing for the draft, and then had that pulled away

so I watched it yesterda and it was really good. so from what I got it the reason why the ncaa investigation started was that Tressel told him to go to a car dealership to get a car for a few days, the car was broken into and that's when the investiation started. also, his friend gave him a cell phone so he could call his mother every night. am I missing something here?

The way it was played out in the media was very one sided.

When I told my sister I watched it, her response was "that loser". She is an OSU alum, and this seemed to be the consensus to those who only saw/heard what was being reported.

yeah and everybody seemed to hate him when he was interviewed and he said he thought about going out after his freshman year and he was critisized by everybody. i also think that jim brown didn't help him either. he called the guy doing the investigation of bein a rascist and mentioned slavory I'm not sure what Brown's exact quote was but it definately dind't help clarretts cause

Yeah Jim Brown was being a jackass, which isn't that surprising. He went on national tv and called Andy Gieger a slave master. I think Andy Gieger was being a dick and unreasonable, but Brown going on national tv and saying that hurt Mo Clarett. And Jim Brown just dgaf. He had make himself the center of attention.

I felt that Clarett's punishment was a little extreme. Couldn't practice with the team, ect.
I feel Jim Brown did it to try and solve the problem by making noise. Maybe he thought it would rectify the situation.

They don't play for free. They get free housing, food, tutoring, and an education. If I had the gift of playing a sport, I would have gladly accepted my education for free.

Okay, for the normal players it's a deal, but for guys like Clowney and Winston they are getting screwed over royally and would obviously rather be in the NFL instead of risking injury for 40k in education related benefits. Education means nothing to the elite players, which would be the only type of guys that would be going 1 and done.

Hearing some talk that Jim Tressel might be in as president of YSU. Unsure if he's completed a doctorate yet but current pres quit after 7mo
