Okay guys, we are having way too many discussions in the minor league game threads... @DickyLeftridge @Criznit @CATS44 @TxBuckeye and everyone else... Let's talk game stats, players etc in here for the games and whatnot. If peeps want to talk games stats in here as well, that would be cool too! I would love to see guys talk about how guys are doing aka Jones, Johnson etc...

Yea well, I'm one of the last guys that needs to be policed on here. There are plenty who like to drone on endlessly and drag conversations into oblivion.

But, here are his splits...
Vs lefties: .256, 4 2B, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 4 BB, 16 K, .319 OBP, .349 SLG, .668 OPS
Vs righties: .228, 15 1B, 4 HR, 20 RBI, 26 BB, 48 K, .377 OBP, .377 SLG, .834 OPS

"I make public posts complaining when there are discussions I don't like, but certainly nobody could ever take issue with anything I write!" is quite the take--especially as you're literally doing the thing you're complaining about.

To follow it up with the tried-and-true "I put myself in an indefensible position, so I better just attack the person instead of the discussion at hand" is just perfect.

@33Y0 I wonder if the lack of power against lefties is something that Jones can fix. I'd love to see some advanced metrics, like Exit Velocity and Launch Angle with R/L splits over a larger sample size than the 43 AB's against lefties that Jones has had this year. Strikeout rate is the same R/L, and batting average is actually higher against lefties, so that profiles, to me, like someone who can hit lefties.

Jones just hasn't hit lefties well at any point in the minors... I haven't sat around and watched his at bats against lefties this season personally...

I'm not going to pretend like something he does as a teenager will reflect on what he can do moving forward as a pro.

Looking just at something like OPS might tell a bad story--but the base stats posted look promising to me. Good contact, same K%. Nothing in there screams "he can't hit lefties well" this year--except asking where the power is.

He seems to be able to take pitches from the left handed pitchers, just never made good contact so hopefully he can get it to translate but I don't expect him to be much outside of platoon guy his first couple seasons to be honest...
