Anybody notice catcher Richard Paz at Arizona? He is 20, a little old, but is 8 for 15 with three homers and a 5/0 BB/K. Any word on his defense?

From what I can tell, Range factor wise, he doesn't look bad at all that way... His size, says low probability since he is tiny.... I also don't think he has a strong arm/arm talent as a catcher, but that's just guessing via stats...

Tuesday Game Updates:

Jhonkensey Noel is making a loud return to Lynchburg tonight. RBI single in the 1st inning & 2 run blast in the 2nd inning.

Edit:
The ball is flying across Ohio tonight..

AAA Columbus trails 8-6 entering the 5th inning (4 homers for Cbus, 2 for Iowa already)....

AA Akron tied 5-5 in top of the 7th inning (1 homer by Richmond Flying Squirrels)....

High A Lake County leads 4-2 in the bottom of the 5th (2 homers for Captains, 2 more for Great Lakes Loons).....

Low A Lynchburg leads 9-1 in the top of the 5th (1 homer by each team already)...

What is Lynchburg's record when Noel starts?
Don't know.. I think its pretty good.. Will see if I can locate that stat..

EDIT: Could not locate as a stat, but I did locate the game logs for him & was able to match against the team scores for those games.
Across the 17 Low A games this season coming into action today, Hillcats/ Jhonkensey are 13-4.
Yeah, he is the straw stirring the drink down there this season

The Clippers' numbers so far reveal how much of the value of the Tribe's system is at AA and below. The Clippers rank 14th of 20 AAA East teams in scoring; 13th in batting average and OPS. Their best hitter has been Owen Miller at .310/.876. Yu Chang is hitting .310/.920 in only 42 AB's. When you look at the numbers for Miller and Chang in Cleveland you can see how big the gap is between AAA and the majors. The fact that we only have two decent hitters in Columbus and neither could make a dent in major league pitching is discouraging.

Andres Gimenez, another guy sent down because he couldn't hit, is at .263/.820, so at least he's showing some power. Ernie Clement has a decent average but no power (.289/743).

The pitching has been a disaster as the Clippers rank 19th of 20 in ERA and WHIP. Their team ERA is 5.61. Part of that is due to the injuries to the Indians starters resulting in guys like Mejia, Hentges, and Morgan being poached from the Clippers. The best Clippers pitchers this year are with the Indians now; McKenzie (2.95 ERA in Columbus), Garza (20 innings, 6 hits, 28 K's), and Parker (11 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs). What's left in Columbus are the dregs. Last night the Clippers gave up 15 runs.

There are so many non-prospects on the team it's hard to get interested in whether they win or lose. AFAIC, the only reasons to pay any attention to the Clippers are Nolan Jones, Oscar Gonzalez, Andres Gimenez, Gabriel Arias, Sam Hentges and Francisco Perez.

Weds game results:

All games are completed.

AAA Columbus wins 7-4
AA Akron wins 3-0 in a weekday afternoon game.
High A Lake County loses 5-0.
Low A Lynchburg sweeps its doubleheader winning Gm1 7-4 and Gm2 4-2.

Jhonkensey Noel is on fire!!! He has hit 3 absolute bombs since returning.. IIRC the shortest distance traveled was @ 450 ft.. Both today were 485 or further..

On the night CLE affiliates go 4-1 with a run diff of +6
On the week CLE affiliates are 6-3 with a run diff of +3

I think we need to get Noel to LC... I wouldn't even be against getting him to Akron and just seeing what he could do against the pitchers there, but LC I think should happen.

Slow down, brotha. What’s with everyone trying to rush these kids up three levels every time they have a hot stretch?
