Minor League Week 15 Games Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Daniel Espino doing his thing today - 5IP 1H 1HR 1ER 1BB 11K on 69 pitches 51 strikes.

As for Kwan, he is a longshot, but he has been a beast since returning from the IL. Last 28 days - 20G 92PA 370/435/605/1.040 9BB/11K - on the year in 37G 333/394/542/935 - 14BB 19K. If he maintains an OPS north of .900 it will be interesting.

At this point I like him as much or more than Daniel Johnson or Oscar Mercado.

I can agree with the part in bold, but with as much as we like certain players, unless there is room for them to play/ participate it really do not matter.

In this case Zimmer/ Mercado/ Daniel Johnson/ even Steven Kwan end up in the same place: not on the 40 man roster in later November 2021..

Just something to consider:

The West Xichigan team just intentionally walked George Valera AND Jose Tena to load the bases in the bottom of the 10th to face Micah Pries with 2 out & the score tied..
Pries has a better batting avg than either Valera/ Tena but he struck out in that at-bat.

If the opposition is willing to take the risky chance of loading the bases to get around certain players & face a better avg, then there is massive talent in those being walked. IMHO both Valera & Tena will be added to the 40 man roster this November & the actions of West Xichigan endorse that happening.

I'm sure they will be added.
But that story sounds like the West X manager is a moron.
MiLB is all about player development, not winning a specific game. Why not let the pitcher challenge those guys. Maybe he would learn something.
