Tuesday night game updates:
Due to some rain delays at the start both Akron & Lake County are playing only 7 inning games tonight..

AAA Columbus leads 3-2 in the top of the 5th

Low A Lynchburg trails 6-0 in the top of the 5th

AA Akron with no score in the bottom of the 1st

High A Lake County with no score in the top of the 1st

In the bottom of the third, Rocchio hammers a 3 run shot for Akron. Its the only hit the Ducks have so far.

They lead 3-0

Pilkington has four scoreless innings with seven Ks so far.

Rocchio may not be getting enough love as the “shortstop of the future” favorite.

If you were going to ask me who the starting shortstop is on Opening Day 2023, smart money would probably be on him.

The additions of Pilkington and Battenfield give us at least six MiLB SPs who are having terrific seasons so far.

Curry
Morris
Espino
Allen, jr.

There may be more, but those are the only ones I'm aware of.

Add those to what we are seeing from Quantrill and TMac...and to some extent, Morris...the pitching factory seems to be humming along.

I completely agree. Going into tonight, before his fourth home run in six games, he was sporting a wRC+ of 141 in 65 plate appearances with a wOBA of .387 in Double-A at only 20 years old. Add that to his defensive prowess at SS, and he could really be special. There's a certain SS that used to play here who is also a switch-hitter that he reminds me of, but I'm reluctant to go there...yet.

Pilkington pulled after giving up three singles and a run to start the sixth.

Thru five he hadn't been scored on.

More Tuesday night game updates/ finals:

AAA Columbus wins 7-4
AA Akron loses 4-3

High A Lake County leads 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th

Low A Lynchburg trails 11-6 in the bottom of the 9th
-------------------------------------------------
Edit:
High A Lake County wins 4-2
Low A Lynchburg loses 11-6

On the night the CLE affiliates go 2-2 with a run diff of -1

Man, I'd love to see that comparison video in slow mo.

At regular speed, its uncanny.
Rocchio has a little more load.. raises his hands during the load ever so slightly during the load.. then, they're both, as you've said.. uncannily similar w/ perhaps a slightly faster swing speed by Brayan.. Rocchio will need to consider cleaning up that unneeded movement, but that shouldn't be a big issue..
