I'm not sure that Rocchio isn't our top prospect.

This isn't the thread to debate it, and I really don't want to...but I have to study a bit more.
Think we should give him some time in LF in the offseason?

No, just my opinion though. I'd rather see almost any of the other MIFers in the outfield than him. When he plays in the majors it will be in the infield and should be up the middle, again just my opinion.

Agree with this.

Rocchio, Arias, Freeman, Gimenez (and on and on) is about as good as a logjam can get.

No.

We can get corner outfielders.

Finding an impact SS is much harder, and light-years more valuable.

I've been advocating for trading prospects for established young vets....and I would trade any of them for the right one.

But Rocchio would be one that really hurt. Of all our young MLB or near MLB ready MIFs that profile as a SS, he's the one I'd rather hold onto.

But admittedly, I'm biased toward switch hitting MIFs. Weve had a few elite ones over the last twenty five years. Four to be exact.

So -- Lindor and Alomar....assume we are counting JRam as he started in the middle?....Is Baerga your 4th? Carlos had 4 consecutive exceptional seasons, and was was a personal fave. Though those largely fall outside your 25 year range...
Asdrubal never reached those highs,. but obviously had /has a longer/ better career.

I hadn't even thought about Baerga or Droobs.

Good call.

Don't forget a guy named Omar.

Ha -- I originally looked at your post as to be concentrated on switch hitters, so that is where I focused my thoughts...obviously not the case, but a fun, interesting exercise in any case.

Omar was a switch hitter, as are/were Baerga, Droobs, JRam, Robbie, and Lindor.

If Rocchio only becomes the worst of those for us, we've got ourselves something.

Droobs was worth 15 fWAR for us.

Baerga was worth 17.5 fWAR, then we traded him for Jeff Kent and Vizquiano, which we flipped a year later for Matt Williams, who we flipped a year later for Travis Freeman.

One can only hope...

And if he ends up being an average of all six....

But first things first. Lets hope he keeps developing, and we get to see him do well in a Guardians uniform....or helps us acquire somebody who will help us win the division multiple years.

I don't disagree at all with you or CATS on this. It was really a vague question and the only reason I even asked was due to his bat. It will be curious to see how things work themselves out with all of Arias, Rocchio, Freeman, Gimenez, Miller, Tena and the multiple other MIF prospects.

Alright let's get this game thread back on track!!!!

It's the top of the 8th in Columbus and the Clippers are down 3-2... Kwan, Clement, Roberto Perez and Oscar Gonzalez got a hit today... Kwan is playing himself to the bigs in 21...

Akron is down 13-5 in the 7th.... Pilkington got hit around... Valera, Brennan and Rocchio all got hits...

LC is down 4-1... No one of note has done anything today... Tena is 0-4 and Noel is 0-3 (probably why the score is 4-1)

Lynchburg is up 9-4, pretty much everyone for the Hillcats has gotten a hit and Angel Martinez and Planez both have two hits...

Columbus just made things real interesting in the bottom of the 9th but ended rather anti-climatically losing 6-3.

Kwan lead off with a single - final line 2-4 2 singles, 1BB and a run - he keeps producing
Clement - flies out
Berto - lines out - surprised he took a final AB over Lavastida... Assume this was his last rehab game.
OGonz - works a WALK.!!! final line 1-4 his 10th AAA double, 1BB, 1RBI
Palacios - hits a single that scores Kwan, however OGonz thrown out at 3rd, ending the game. his final line 1-2 1R 1RBI 1BB 1K and 2HBP..

The future is looking bright, might see some growing pains in 2022 but might also see our next run of quality ML players and who knows maybe a ROY/future All-Star(s)..

Well here we go again. Sort of.

In AAA. Steven Kwan 1-2 with a 2 run homer out of the lead off spot. And of course Oscar G has to hit a solo shot of his own. Columbus up 3-0. The hodgepodge of pitchers for the Clips have a no hitter of their own going on.

In A+ Espino was beyond dominant today but making 1 costly mistake. His final line
