Minor League Week 5 games (6/1 - 6/6/21)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
None posted that I saw & I am not in the press conferences..

Most likely it is a desire to keep TMac on a decent pitching schedule (last pitched Monday 5/31) and acknowledgment of Eli Morgan returning (& my guess starting a game soon). TMac going today keeps him in line with the spot be used by Cal Q today.

The guy removed from the start today was RHP Kevin Herget. He was a recent signee from Indy ball. His starting is not a priority.
Its the right move to get & keep guys like TMac/ Morgan pitching with a routine & be ready for the next time there is a need with the MLB club.

Herget is probably designated as the long man now in a sense... I don't know enough about him honestly to have any other opinion...

TMac and Morgan need to be on a good schedule.. I would kind of like them on the schedule with our 4th/5th starters so they can be ready at a moments notice...

I see no one stepped up for today (Sunday 6/6/21).

So in brief review:

AAA: Columbus wins 4-1 in rain shortened affair (called in top of the 9th).
Nice outing for TMac (5.1 IP, 0 runs, 2 hits, 2 walks, 4ks; 71 pitches, 44 strikes).

10 Clipper hits spread evenly across 5 batters (2 per for Mercado/ Gimenez/ Clement/ D Johnson & Marabell).

AA: Akron loses 6-0.
I heard a radio report that SP Eli Lingos of the RDucks took a comebacker off the face in the the 2nd inning. Same report said he walked off the field under his own power, Fingers crossed he is ok. Indians Prospective Twitter has video of the incident. Send some prayers for Eli...

High A Lake County wins 14-4
Nice outing for Hickman (5.2 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, 1 walk, 5ks; 88 pitches, 56 strikes).

Low A Lynchburg lost 9-2
Rough outing for Lenny Torres but he is still in the process of working his way back so now panic from this corner.
Torres line (4.0 IP, 4 runs all earned, 6 hits (2 of which were homers, 3 run blast & solo shot), 2 walks & 2 ks; 62 pitches, 37 strikes)

CLE affiliates go 2-2 on the day & end the week 10-13.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

On Monday I will post my observations from the Friday night games I saw in Akron in this thread.

On Monday the org record tracker will be updated/ posted.

With the new weekly thread I will also post the updated table of positions played by various CLE prospects this year.

Eli Lingos update... (from his Manager & the RDucks)

I gotta hunch TMac will be back very soon. He's going to have the Cleveland-Columbus route on 71 memorized. He can stop at Grandpa's Cheese Barn.

Seems like it was...

Question: how long was the delay before Lingos left the field & the RDucks could start warming up Eric Mock to take over??
I would say he was down for about 3-5 minutes and then slowly walked off mostly on his own. I think Mock started warming up a bit in the bullpen, before warming up on the mound. Mock pitched fairly well, getting out of the second and pitching through the 5th giving up one solo home rum.
