Minor League Week 6 Games (6/8 - 6/13/21)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd like to know when we're going to see some of these promotions. OGonz, Freeman, F. Perez and the Mikolachak or whatever from the bullpen. Let's get those 2 bullpen arms up!

Promotions:
OGonz, Freeman, Palacios, F. Perez, Mikolochak or whatever

Logan Allen Junior, X. Curry in about a week, Burns, Brennan

ESPINO DA GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, ????

Who's in line? Let's get it.
Your only considering part of the promotion equation.
I posted the following in another thread earlier this week when asked about a promotion for Alex Call & Will Brennan. Here it is again:

For someone to get a promotion, you need the following:
1) that player needs to be playing well
2) that player to have a playing opportunity at the next level (a guy isn't promoted to sit the bench)
3) someone ready/ able to back-fill the spot being opened (demotion of another while possible is uncommon)

Consider: As Bauers was DFA'd last Saturday 6/5/21, Bobby Bradley was called up, which lead to promotions for Trenton Brooks & Johnathan Engleman. No one moved up to Lake County as players were returning from injury & filling in that playing time.

You want to understand when others that you listed will get promoted ---> look at the rest of the picture and determine the corresponding moves.

Triston McKenzie should be sent to a shrink

Likely part of the trip process....
Unless another injury, this removes TMac from consideration for starting in CLE on Thursday vs Baltimore & on Tuesday 6/22 at ChiCubs..
I don't believe Moss (Friday) or Logan S Allen (Sat) are options for those spots but perhaps Eli Morgan (going today for CBus) might be...

Pretty nice set of starters to watch today.

Pitching depth is thin in AA/AAA - in fact AAA has 6 pitchers that are new in 2021 but A ball has the potential to deliver several excellent options in a couple years.

LC: Burns, L.T.Allen and today's starter Hickman are promotion candidates and expect at least one of them to be in AA by July 4th. LC is LOADED with SP potential

yea, tito didnt give him any love when he came out to get him yday - it was basically "give me the ball and get your ass out of here"
I noticed that also. Sometimes a little tough love is needed.

Strange. Eli Morgan didn’t start for the Clippers and Josh Wolf pitched in relief for Lynchburg.
Per Indians Prospective Twitter...

RHP Eli Morgan was pulled from his start today for Triple-A Columbus. No injury announced so most likely to be added to #Indians active roster maybe as soon as after today's game with the Mariners.

Some quick Sunday game update:

AAA Columbus wins 6-3.
Homers by Gimenez & Nolan Jones early to keep the Clippers close in a bullpen game (once Morgan pulled from the start).
Luplow has yet to play again since getting a few at bats as the DH on Friday.

AA Akron is playing right now. They trail 1-0 in the top of the 5th.

High A Lake County loses 7-6

Low A Lynchburg wins 5-2
-------------------------------

Edit:
AA Akron loses 3-0

CLE affiliates go 2-2 on the day with a run diff of +2
On the week the CLE affiliates go 12-11 with a run diff of +1. Wining the week is an improvement over the past few weeks so I am happy with the results. Now to build upon & improve those results.

Sounds like one of Miller/Clement/Chang will be sent back down to add Morgan...

Hey Mad, how has Jordan Stephans looked? Could he be someone that's called up to sink or swim? A sacrificial lamb of sorts?

I think it very likely would be Owen Miller sent out (of those 3) to add Eli Morgan. Especially since Luplow's rehab seems to be delayed.
Likely comes down to who (of those 3) is better to back up Amed R at shortstop.

An option has already been burnt this year with Ernie so let him be on the bench in the majors so others play regularly in MLB/ AAA...
Personally I would not be surprised if one of Chang/ Clement loses their 40 man spot after the end of the season as others are added to the roster/ protected from the R5 draft this December..
----------------------------------------

As for a question about Jordan Stephens...

1) Why is anyone asking about Jordan Stephens? Did you look at his WHIP number for this season??

2) Huh.... Why?????
3) <insert sarcasm font/ emoji> WHY??????

Clement actually was going to get a promotion if he didn't get hurt. Francona is high on him, so he isnt likely to be let go...

Jordan Stephens we acquired and cut from the 40 man roster since he wasn't cutting it in the minors and now he is just a depth piece in the organization...
