MLB 2022 regular season thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No expert am I, but I am aware of top-ish prospect Marte (not yet 21) at A+ and young ( not yet 19) but powerful Arroyo…both are still a long way from majors, but top talent in the now.

And Castillo, it says UFA in 24 so in baseball terms, that means AFTER the 2024 season? Making this 2.5 years team control fro Seattle?

Or does 2024 UFA mean FA prior to the 24 season and it s a 1.5 year team control situation?

So top two in the Mariner's org according to BA, but every farm system is different so how do Marte and Arroyo compare to the Guardians current top5 prospects?
I am not sure the Guards have a good Apples to Apples comp as their top guys are generally a bit older, but in terms of Marte and Arroyo, it would be something along the line of Valera and Rocchio.

@MirORich

Let's see here, if we were trying to be equalish via mlb.com rankings...

Valera, Rocchio, Burns, RHP Davis Sharpe

Sharpe though is a sleeper bullpen arm, we might start seeing his name come late 23 in Cleveland btw...

Either way that's about what the closest trade that from us that Seattle gave up for him...

Marte was #18 and Arroyo #93 on MLB.com top 100 prospect ratings with Marte Seattle's #1, Arroyo #3 and Stoudt #5 prospects

I am going the closest possible, Valera is below Marte and Rocchio is above Arroyo on that list. I went two position players, two pitchers, aka a 50 rated pitcher, and a solid relief guy from the 21 draft, hence why I went Burns and Sharpe... Burns I dont think is as good as Stoudt, but Allen is too high to compare with Stoudt. Also via BTV, Stoudt and Burns are fairly close together... Sharpe right now is better than Moore in my mind.

Remember I was trying to get it as close as possible, no way to get it perfect, so people can get the idea from our prospects what they gave up. Espino is on a whole another level to anyone Seattle had before this deal.
