MLB 2024 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know his problem in the past has been his walk rate. That’s why I was happy to see no walks his first time out. He throws free and easy too, no violence at all in his motion. His teammate Isaiah Coupet went 4th round to the Rockies last year, and has nowhere near the stuff Bruni has. He does have an elite curveball (Coupet) but he went 4th round after a 5-5 5.75 era season. I could see Bruni going before he did.

Carving up a top tier collegiate lineup.
Watching this guy and what I'll call "unique" delivery.. sort of a multiple headwhacker... He was one of the 9 from my December 5th posting:

Pitchers(9): Jac Caglione*, Chase Burns, Bryce Ranier*, Joey Oakie, Ryan Sloan, Brody Brecht, Owen Hall, Hagen Smith, and Josh Hartle

Won’t be very long before you see this guy in the big leagues.

Might just be me but I see a bit of a CC delivery. A bit quicker, shorter back arm but the same "wing" the ball to the plate. Obviously smaller lol

He definitely has a lower arm slot than CC.

A bit of Chris Sale in his game with the 3/4 slot deception, but he tunnels it well and clearly it makes the spin on the slider something out of a horror movie.

On a random note, I just realized Travis Bazzana is Australian.

He's gotta be the best prospect from that country right?

I can only think of Liam Hendriks and Grant Balfour off the top of my head as Australians who have had notable careers.

Dolan might be salivating at that marketing opportunity :chuckle:

He’s so far and away the best player in this class, IMO.

While its nice to see various clips and hear the opinions of various draftnnik fans, I feel it is too early to narrow the selection field.
Its not even March 1st & the draft is in July (IIRC).
There is a lot of time for someone to emerge for the pack and make everyone take notice & for an early favorite to stumble & fall back.
