Let's start this one. By all I've read, this class is looking much much better and deeper than 2025, especially on the college side.

Guardians will pick 20th overall, possibly 19th IF Mets don't get a top 6 lottery pick (they will drop 10 spots either in rd 1 or 2). For context, DeLauter was 16th overall pick, R. Velazquez and G. Williams 23rd.
CLE also have a comp A pick in the 37-40 overall range.

thanks for starting this thread.. High School SS's (Emerson, Cholowski and Lombard all could go 1-1) College OF'ers (almost all corners) and pitchers (both prep and college) are the strength of this draft.. The college bats are pretty solid, but, not a single franchise changer..

I can hardly wait for you to start singing the praises of that little Arkansas kid with "pitchability" and no weight/height/velo..

This is going to be a good draft from number 8 overall, onward.. Any chance to get another pick would be advised...

I think you mean Aidan Ruiz..... Yes.. he has a swagger.. he's earned it..

A half dozen more names to consider...

International Names: all 16 -18 years old:

-Joniel Hernandez.. a RHH SS from Cuba that has a chance to stay at the six..
-Fernando Graterol.. a strong young RHH catcher from "Catcher City" (Valencia) Venezuela
-Andri Hidalgo.. a big (6'4") LHSP with three pitch mix including a heater that can be unhittable..

High School Names: all 18 or 19 years old:

-Gio Rojas.. a big (6'4", 190 lb), 19 year old LHSP that should be climbing draft boards..
-Will Brick.. a big (6'2", 200 lb) strong armed, 18 year old RHH'ing "reclassified" backstop
-Joseph Contreras.. a legacy RHSP/RP with the frame of a fully grown man at age 18

One of three of these guys (for both groups) would be huge for CleFO....

Smaller sample size (36 PA) than most but Reese led his CCBL team in BA, SLG, OPS

Just to clarify, 19th pick assumes that the Mets don't get a top 6 selection in lottery and thus move down 10 slots (behind us). If they do land in the top 6, we pick 20th.

Their site has a top 100 list... Catcher Vahn Lackey from Gtech is interesting. Their bound to draft a Catcher. Might as well draft the 5 tooled catcher.

The kid is a real athlete behind the dish.. soft hands.. good understanding of pitch sequencing and strong all around catching skills. and he can hit some from the right side.... Georgia Tech has a history of producing superb quality ML players including back stops like Jason Varitek, Matt Wieters and Joey Bart.. At # 19, he'd be an overdraft (due a discounted slot value).. at # 30, he'd be right where he should be drafted.. He would be a nice addition.. thanks for highlighting him.. your eye is keen...

No eye. Just reading the profiles of common targets for the team. College arms, college bats and catchers etc..

It's early, but this class looks a lot better and deeper than 2025.

At 19th, SS Maniscalco would be an easy choice, but he's ranked higher everywhere else. Same with fellow college SS Tyler Bell. Both are switch hitters too and extremely young for their level. Maniscalco re-classified into this class and would have been very young from 2027 too, so he's basically an IFA aged prospect who'd take extra time to develop. Very high risk/reward with a high floor thanks to his glove.

Another re-classified bat, the aforementioned Will Brick offers another intriguing profile with one of the 1sr rd picks, though I'm not a fan of drafting catchers early, even less out of HS.

LHP class is deep throughout, both college and HS. Would like to get one with the top 4 picks (Top 100).

There are 3 CF profiles I really like and hope to get one of them too. HS CF Trevor Condon (32nd) and two college CFs in Lucas Moore (84) and Andrew Williamson (91), who will go earlier than that if they repeat their SO seasons. One of those would be nice too.

With picks 19, 30 and then around 60 and 90. One true SS, one true CF, one LHP with one free pick either for one of the RHPs (Contreras, DeCaro, Waechter, R. Lynch) or double up on college LHP (Kleinschmit, Norby, Ojeda, T. Beard, M. Edwards, S. Sdao or Canadian HS S. Duncan). LHP class is really deep, so there's probably value trickling down into the mid rounds too.

Then there are at least a handful of bat first types I like like OFs Zion Rose, Logan Hughes or 3B/2B Landon Thome (yes, Jim's son).

With many others I'm still not familiar with, so there's probably more talent to like too.

That said, I'd stay the hell away from V. Lackey in round 1 and if he drops out of there with a poor season, I'd probably just let someone else take the risk. I just can't unsee that 177 BA and 306 OBP in 240+ PA wooden bat sample in Northwood and Cape action. Major red flag for me and usually those don't translate. Add a poor FR season and his SO season looks like the outlier, especially considering a poor BB/K with that (so high BABIP inflated most probably). Pass.
