Not sure why you say roast away. No one is perfect on these, something we seem to forget arguing with eachother pre draft at times, lol.

I liked Bamba allot. Everyone had me convinced that Doncic was the next big thing in the NBA. I hated Trey Young, Liked Ayton a ton, thought he or Doncic were the top of the class.

Its really hard to pick these guys, a GM is expected to get it right about 50% of the time and they scout these kids 80 hours a week.

I just remind myself that there are guys paid a lot of money to do this for a living, and they completely whiff sometimes.

So, who really cares if we whiff after watching these guys play on tv a few times without the aid of a roomful of scouts in addition to a combine and the interview process?

I have often thought that the pros sometimes get paralyzed by over analyzing. We do it some, but man it seems to happen all the time with GM's. Really scouting is very difficult.

Indeed. I was actually down on Barnes (as a UNC fan, I always thought the hype over him was SO overblown). I didn't want a team like the Cavs to overreach and expect him to be like LeBron. He's had a decent career to be honest. Nowadays I enjoy seeing The Classy One on the court LOL

IT was easy for me to hate on his after 2016 too. I did for a long time, but he is a good SF. It is really hard to judge that position because it is pretty easy to hate on anyone not Lebron.

Keep in mind, I didn't want a guard at all due to us not knowing LeBron's intentions yet. The fact that SGA and Sexton were on my board at all was high praise at the time as you can see, I left Trae Young off altogether.

This was the last draft I really paid attention so I actually followed some of tehse players enough to have an opnion.

1. Ayton (he's been good, better than people think..but it's still a big miss)

3. Bamba (bust)
4. Bagley (not great, Bob)
5. Wendell Carter (not great, Bob)
6. Trey Young
7. Jaren Jackson (eh...I'm not sold he's a star in the making yet)
8. Shai
9. MIchael Porter Jr.
10. Mikal Bridges
11. Miles Bridges.
12. Sexton.


So, no great. Bamba being the biggest whoopsie, by far.

Glad to see him finally getting burn after the Vuc trade. I'm not sure he'll ever live up to what I thought he could be coming out of the draft, but there's a useful NBA player in there.

Bamba is low awareness and low motor, bad combo.

What he does have and will always have is tremendous, top of the food chain physical gifts.

He’s so big and long that he’s going to grab rebounds and block shots at a pretty high level even without tangibly impacting the game.

Kind of Drummond-y in that respect.

What is his story? Is he that bad? I liked him coming out of college, but I will admit i have not watched him much as a pro.
