Westbrook was 1-10 for 5 points and a -15 +/- in 29 minutes against the Knicks last night. Lebron and AD were fantastic -- Lebron had a +12 on 29/13/10, AD had a +9 on 28/17 and 4 blocks, both shooting very efficiently. Malik Monk also had a great game, +8 on 29 points.
Westbrook also looked rattled from the foul line, shooting 3-7 and (more important) missing two crucial foul shots in the final minute that would have won the game in regulation.
Seems clear the Lakers would have won pretty easily in regulation and avoided a near-loss and overtime without Westbrook.
This was an unusually horrible game even for him, but it's pretty clear Lakers are better with him off the court (he is -6.2 on the year) and a backcourt of Monk + anybody else, like Reaves or whatever. Going to be interesting to see how they handle this going into the playoffs, whether they significantly reduce his role and whether there is any drama about it.
Funny thing is that his actual shooting percentages (43-30, 47% effective FG) are almost exactly at his career averages.
