Most underrated songs of all time

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
1991 - a fantastic year for music. Glad I saw this thread, been revisiting a lot of stuff I haven't listened to in awhile. The King Crimson love warms my heart... But back to TAD. lol.

A goth metal ballad that was inspired by Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine. I first heard this 25ish years ago and I haven't heard anything that sounds quite like it since.

A pseudo Chi Lites pastiche about cunnilingus. Michael Stipe sings this in such a high register because he meant to sing it from the point of view as a woman, but I think it's one of he best vocal performances across their catalogue.

Before pioneering the "New Jack Swing" style Bel Biv Devoe were choreographing dance moves in New Edition with Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill. This song is actually a pretty solid amalgamation of the different music directions the members would go after the group split

Love this song, New Jack Swing is my favorite, but Guy and Teddy Riley, and Hall of Famer Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewish with Janet were really the pioneers of New Jack Swing, not BBD. But Poison is my favorite dance song of all time, so much love to BBD....and NE.

Also Full Force of all people were the first New Jack song with Alice. You might remember Full Force from being on every video of Lisa Lisa, lol...but they were also producers including their first hit with UTFO Roxanne Roxanne,

And i would say Bobby Brown who left new eddition started the huge wave of New Jack Swing, although Janet Jackson Control was probably the firsst New Jack platnum album.

So, for my upcoming birthday I told my wife that I wanted to get great seats for The Postal Service/Death Cab for Cutie in a week and a half. Bought them last spring. Glad I secured them early, they are going for way higher now in resale.

The Postal Service is underrated in my opinion. Best album of the early 2000s.

The name "Death Cab For Cutie" was taken from a Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah band song title sung by the inimitable Viv Stanshall.
(Intro by Michael Palin.)
Just a bunch of jerks making comedy music, I love it!

A gem from my favorite band of all time.

This is probably my favorite R&B song. Heard this one a lot from my mom as a youngin.

“Show me to the subway, I’ll go down” is my favorite euphemism I’ve heard in a song for eating box.

Not sure how to embed, but this was a great song of its time..

In the minds of a lot of folks, Deep Purple is the band that made "Smoke on the Water", and that's pretty much it. But along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, DP was one of the "Big 3" of early heavy metal. And like Zeppelin, they had some outstanding musicians in their prime. "Child in Time", not Smoke on the Water, was their concert epic. Though for reasons that become apparent below, vocalist Ian Gillan -- one of rock's great voices -- wasn't keen on doing it on back to back nights. Here's a live version they did for TV. Starts slow, and then....:

Now that's a falsetto. @The Oi
