Moves the Indians should make for the 2nd half

I think it's clear that most of us see some value in Amed's overall game. Much in the same way we see value in Zimmer, or Mercado, or Chang, or any other talented player that hasn't been consistent on the field in demonstrating their talent. There's always that hope we hold onto when we see talent. I like Amed's talent and attitude, but if they think trading him improves this club then by all means do so.

People over look the fact that Amed is still pretty young.

We get excited if Bradley or Mercado or Harold have a good week or month. The get bugged eyed when Johnson and Miller go on a tear in the minors..Amed is younger than Mercado and Harold, and the same age as Bradley, Johnson, and Clement...only a year older than Miller.

We go gaga over Zimmers and Mercados speed, although Amed is faster.

We shrug when it's pointed out that Amed was playing regularly in NY probably two years early. But if he had spent those two years in Columbus, we would be insisting that he was a core player. In addition, he has been screwed with defensively by the Indians.

Amed uses the entire field, hitting the ball the other way as much as he pulls it. In spite of his all fields approach, his hard hit % is higher by far than it has ever been.

And he is the epitome of a player who fits the Tribe culture. Tito and the FO hold him in high regard.

And he's a slap hitter who is a below average defensive player, total meh

We should have won the 1st game vs the A's and we won yesterday. I'm convinced that this team can claw its way back into it. Especially when Bieber and Civale return. That begs the question.........will they make any moves? A LHRP seems to be needed. Too bad Nelson didn't step up and claim that role or that Gose seem to get worse. Anthony Gose with control would make this BP incredible.

Hence why I wanted more LHP brought in for spring training... I am not even sure who we could target... The one that comes to mind is Chafin from the Cubs... Sign next year for 5ish million, but it's a team option with a buyout. He's a Kent state guy, so it wouldn't be so bad to bring him home...

If TMac is healthy, he's one of your top 5. As long as they don't think he needs to work on his mechanics in the minors or something, his time has come.

Not for a long time. Sounds like an extension is a good possibility.

We have a special thread that specifically addresses the possible trade of Jose Ramirez.. Sadly.. the same denial of the possibility of trading Jose Ramirez is posted regularly.. because no one wants to see Jose leave.. not because a trade is not possible, but inevitable..

A trade is certainly possible, but an extension seems far more likely at this juncture.

I don't see any reason or evidence to believe there is an extension or there will be beyond the current extension Jose enjoys. The indians have a history of extending players through their arbitration years and perhaps one or two beyond that.. The rarity of a second extension is almost non-existent with the Indians and this FO..

I'll give you the possibility exists.. no more..

@BimboColesHair has even told us that there are serious extension talks.
