I wouldn't give him $300mil/10; I wouldn't give that to anybody this side of Fernando Tatis. And I might not even give it to him.

My guess is they will do a 5/110-6/135 type of deal at longest... The 4/84 type I think will happen personally...

I wish we'd sell earlier.

Cesar, Eddie, bullpen arms should all be available.

I doubt Luplow has any value whatsoever.
Hell yeah! Cesar, Eddie, McKenzie, Wittgren, Shaw, Luplow, Zimmer, Mercado, Amed, and a number of prospects should be made available if the return fits this team's needs going forward.

I think JRam gets extended, but if by the off chance they decide to move him in the offseason I'll reserve my judgement until I see the return.

Even though I'm in favor of being sellers, I'm also in favor of improving this team now. Both can be done at the same time and this team is clearly capable of playing with the best of them. I do feel, and it's probably obvious to anyone that follows Cleveland, that any acquisitions will not be short term, here and now moves.

I'm assuming that extension talks imply that the good ol' $300 mil / 10 yr superstar benchmark deal is Not in play.
Don't know, but there isn't a player in existence that's worth that IMO. Those contracts never work out.

Can anyone explain to me why Stephan hasn't been given an opportunity to start?

Personally I thought he would get some "opener" starts... My guess is they believe he is better off staying as a reliever this season as the best thing for him long term?

Bimbo may know...

I think you’re really close with those numbers. I was thinking 4/90 or 5/120, personally.

I like Stephan as an RP as well.. Limiting his exposure will give him a chance for a LONG and successful career..

I think he could be a pretty solid to excellent reliever, but I would be fairly surprised if they don't move him back to the rotation (AAA) for 2022 and see what they got. the AAA rotation for 2022 looks pretty spotty/empty at this point.

Actually, the Columbus rotation next year looks quite formidable.

Lets say that TMac and Quantrill are in the Cleveland rotation.

The AAA rotation likely starts with Allen, Morgan, Hentges, Mejia, and maybe Stephan...all young, all with MLB experience...and all before any of the younger guys are thrown into the mix.

You can't hold the sudden and unexpected MLB exposure...for which most of them were not in any way prepared for...against them, but you can count the learning experiences as a plus.

What we are seeing most nights may not look pretty, but the lessons are those which can be learned in no other way...close to invaluable

Check your option years, if I remember right, Mejia, Hentges and Allen are out of them, but I could be wrong...

There’s no way Hentges and Mejia are out of options. Guys are given three when they’re added to the 40-man, and this year would be the first time they’ve used one.

Comes down to the roster construction... what makes the best 40 for the 2022 season and beyond.. Sometimes that's going to hurt.. and decisions are painful..

example (for illustrative purposes only): Only one LHP "should" be kept between Logan S Allen or Sam Hentges. Allen has nearly zero trade value.. while Hentges would be one of the top five picks in the rule V draft and would be kept by that club & lost to the tribe forever. Answer: Logan S is exposed to waivers.. If he doesn't have value to anyone else.. why would the Indians protect him?

From a quick overview.. there are 30 - 32 dead sure locks to the Indians' 40 man roster & 18 questions that are much more difficult than the one above.. Some of them will be heart rendering.. some heart breaking.. some inevitable..

A trade from depth for non-roster required players lessens the loss of the devils we know.. It's a temporary situation..
