Unless that subject is Stryker, or Pip's amazingness.

If so, then multiple threads are allowed.
xsabre recognizes the two main exceptions, and thus is rewarded bonus points for his ever growing brilliance and astute observations...

Re: Posting Etiquette

Touche' Pussycat...

One thing to add, please quit all of this junk while we're at it: "y r u going to give him the $ when he hasn't done n e thing in the league ?"

Terrible, just terrible..
THANK YOU...that just HAD to be said. Anyone viewed as a threat to turn this into the junk at cavs.com should be located, cornered, tied to a lamp post, and beaten with yard sticks ASAP.

If I could thank you over and over again for this, Pip, I would. You know I would.

I'm new to the board but I'm in awe over the wealth of information and quality posts available at my fingertips. I hope I can offer some good contributions, but I have a question or two:
How do you bump up your stars? And if you're thanked, what does that add? Apologize if I'm missing these, but hopefully a veteran can help me out. Thanks!

You bump up your stars by gaining "reputation points" (getting thanked and receiving reputations), as well as posting more... The faster you gain rep. points, the faster your stars will get filled up...

Thanks add reputation points to your reputation (the little green dots next to "Rep Power:")... It's a way to measure how good the poster's post was..

Instead of people looking at your amount of posts (like cavs.com), they look at your rep. points to see how good of a poster you've been..

I hope that answers your questions... ;)

Whats with all the guys with "smooth" in their username? Are you starting an army SMOOTH? Is this a new manscaping movement that I don't know about yet?

Actually the stars are the amount of posts a user has.

Earning rep points get you more green icons that eventually turn into trophies.

what's up with you gentlemen and your biast against cav's.com posters? it was a fairly solid board with only a few little kids who liked to make random threads. we in general are just as capable and as pationate about our team as the realcavsfan posters.

We have bias against bad posting. So if that upsets anyone, bad luck.

Please lets not continually start new threads on the same topic. I hate looking on this forum after a win and its full of "We are gonna be champions" or when we lose its "We suck" threads everywhere.

Utilise the game threads for your game rants. Lets not fill the Cavs page with useless banter we've heard 1000 times before.

I agree. I only just joined after draft night and i was in awe of the knowledge and just how dedicated some posters on here are to the cavs. Its only 5 games in and im already sick of threads on how good this team is gonna be after a win against charlotte, then two days later we are headed to the lottery after a loss to New Orleans on their first home game.

Hi All; Very, very good guidelines. I like the idea of limiting the "internet slang" that is sooo prevalent on other same type Cavs forums out there. I stopped posting at another place because of the short replies to posts and the horrible grammar, and all the slang. It was allowed to go on with little to no regard as to how us "older" folk can even read the crap. LOL

Reading these guidelines is very refreshing. I've operated my own forums in another industry since 2001... vBulletin as well. I know young people these days just love to use the quick grammar like "cuz, r, u, y, etc, etc, etc" but we know they have learned proper English so why not use it? I also realize you cannot keep all of it out of a forums such as this.

Also; the guideline about only posting a part of another site's and author's article is a very good one. There are many legal reasons why you should never post an entire article if you are not the originator.

I look forward to helping this place and contributing when I think I have something worthy to write. I feel I can contribute in a good way.
