HUGE props to ESPN for doing this. I was thinking about getting involved but I'm too much of a wuss to join My Wish. (I nearly cried during some of the segments). My Wish is an organization that helps kids with diseases enjoy things that they've always wanted to do and love. ESPN brought it into the sports world.

They included: A girl met with the Mariners, a boy met Kobe Bryant, a boy met Jeff Gordon, a boy met with Todd Helton, and another boy met with the Eagles and McNabb.

There are more but I haven't seen them all. The one with the Eagles was neat. This kid wanted to be coach for just one day, so ESPN told them they were gonna watch ESPN News, and they were told it was for footage on My Wish kids. But ESPN had secretly taped an interview with Coach Andy Reid saying the Eagles are gonna bring in a new coach with youth, and he should be able to contribute. He then said his name and the kid jumped up. He got to be coach for a day for practice and meeted all the players, and got one guys gloves. McNabb was his favorite player, and he talked and then played catch with him. I smiled the whole time watching it. I grew a respect for the Eagles in how they treated him the whole day.

Kobe was surprising. He was so nice to this kid it was awe inspiring. They played in an arcade for a bit then hit the court. Kobe taught him some things and then they played horse. Now at first I'm thinking "Kobe's gonna let him win", but then this dude started draining 3's. Bryant tried a behind the backboard shot from the corner, swished it, then this little man followed up with a swish. I still think it was kinda fixed, but Kobe lost. (Go LBJ).

But it's great seeing people and kids who got a bad break, but will remember these days for their entire lives, and the hope that it brings will never leave them.

Yeah I thought it was a really nice thing for ESPN and the athletes to do, it was a cool series hopefully they do more.

Kobe probably jumped at the chance to do this, he needs all the good PR he can get, he has a lot of people to win over if he wants to get back to where he was on the Sprite and McD's commercials.

Nah, i've met Kobe way before any of this stuff went down in Colorado... He was nothing but very gracious with me.. Genuinely a nice guy..

He may be a nice guy in person but his public image was shattered by that whole ordeal, getting good press like this is exactly what he wants/needs to get back into the light as a good guy.

Shoot even Nike took him back after they dropped him. Only hardcore haters like myself still bring up and won't let the rape allegations go. He seems likeable on tv when I see him doing stuff like this. But then I see him talking about Raja Bell, " I don't know this kid " , and I hate him again. Still it's a nice thing to do for the kids.
Wutang is for the babies!

I dont like it, i bet the players get paid for talking to these kids. guys are selfish these days. u know its true.

Fact of the matter is, he didnt rape anybody. At most, the only thing you can hate him for is committing adultry.

He didnt rape that girl, their case was so damn weak it was bound to fall on its face, which it did.

Never said he did, but the whole thing obviously didn't look good. No denying that, his rep was hurt by the situation and he's trying to build it back.

im not getting in this cause kobe had sex with some1 and she decided to try and get money.its simple math, she was a white trash hoe that wanted some money.

if u think about it, kobe banged white trash, so does that make him white trash????
