i think everyone on this board would agree the national media has gone to far. they need to write things and lebron is a big story anyways.

the trade stuff, ny and laker stuff, gilbert stuff, silas firing stuff. just remember all the trade rumours these guys wrote, all the mvp stuff these guys wrote. same guys different part of the season.

we saw the record and we saw the teams we played in the first half. we also saw us not beat a good team almost all season, and we also saw us not beat good teams that had stars injured.

most of all, the one thing the media does not mention and seems to be watching sportscenter for their nightly intake of knowledge is lebron's defense. we all know defense wins games. we just have a bad defensive team. a slow, big center with bad feet, a skinny pf, a sf who doesn't play straight up defense, a sg in newble who tries to play d but i wouldn't call him a stopper and mcinnes who possibly could be the worst offender.

the media is also totally confused about why mcinnes was pulled from the starting lineup. if that doesn't tell you that they just look at box scores and highlights them nothing will.

don't listen to them, words to the wise.

Great to see you find your way to the new board GMAN.

Have you heard Charles Barkley's thoughs on Gilbert running the Cavaliers? He said that he is the guy who is running the Titanic.

makes sense to me.

another thing that nobody in the national media has mentioned is that it was no guarantee that silas would have led us to the playoffs. they are all treating it like it was given that we would be in if silas was coaching.

The media, regardless of where its place is, never knows its place. It's always trying to land that marquee story. Hell, if there's a 50% chance, then just print it. If it hits, then they'll be a genius. If not, better luck next time. It doesn't really hurt them if they use words like "sources close to ... report" or "one NBA insider states... "

I just hope our organization is running well from the inside. Let's just hope LeBron isn't pissed off. The best remedy to that is Gilbert dishing out the benjamins and creating a solid team. When teams lose, dirt gets thrown everywhere. Remember early in the season when NO was struggling? Magloire going here, Baron Davis going there, a new rumor every week. Same goes for Cleveland. Most of it's lies, some of it could be truth. Just take nothing and we'll see what really happens this offseason. Winning solves everything.

All this talk of him going to LA or NY just because of his shoe contract is moronic...it was already disputed that is not a real clause in the contract.

Even so, if he wants to win, why would he goto New York?? They dont even have the cap space to sign him anyway, so it is a moot point.

We have three years to get this team to contention, and I believe that will happen.

All that I know is that during NBA fast break or some other stupid ESPN show they asked I think Marc Stein and Mark Jackson if they'd rather see NJ or Cleveland in the playoffs. And you know they didn't pick us. They were saying that NJ would be super duper awesome because Richard Jefferson is going to play in the playoffs and it would be so super to see Kidd and Jeff and Vince play together because they would give the Heat at least a "challenge."

They said that our Cavaliers suck because you dont' know which team is going to show up and blah blah blah. All that I know is that I hope that the Cavaliers make the playoffs and take the series against the Heat. That would make me one happy Ohioan.

Yeah im so sick of hearing the media say the same things about lebron and the cavs over and over again everyday. It gets really annoying. Everytime I watch espn all i hear about is how lebron will demand a trade and how bad the cavs are. The media is really overusing this topic and making it into a much bigger thing than it actually is.

I think we just aren't used to getting this kind of attention here in Cleveland, but now we can expect it because we have LeBron. If you count the NBA TV games this year, we had more national TV games than anyone (even if you don't count them, I believe we had the second most to Miami).

Everything we do is going to be magnified now, and often blown out of proportion. We go into a slump like we are in now? "LeBron will leave Cleveland!" I guarantee if we do make the playoffs, and win the first game of the series they will all say "Cleveland is deadly - watch out for LeBron - they will be the third #8 seed to win a series!" Then if we lose the next 4 they'll say "LeBron will leave Cleveland!" If we have a good offseason and start out 10-2 next season they'll say we're ready to win it all. Until we lose 3 in a row, in which case LeBron is leaving again. If this all sounds stupid, it's because it is. But that's the media for you. We have the biggest name in the NBA, which all of the other 29 teams covet, so get used to it.

I think Bilas hit it on the head on 1st and ten today, if I can find a transcript of that show Ill postit...
