2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here’s a deal that could work:

LA: Anthony Davis
N.O.: Brandon Ingram, Kevin Love, Ante Zizic, future 1st from LA
CLV: #4 pick, Solomon Hill, Josh Jackson
PHX: Lonzo Ball

tried on trade machine says cut 7M from LA incoming salary[/QUOTE]

Trade machine doesn't work right this time of the year. It can't handles all the variation that GMs have to make salaries work.

being over the tax can the Cavs do any of these trades? I have tried most of the suggested trades on the trade machine and it says not allowed. IE williams for JR - says cut 9 million from Cavs incoming salary for this to work.

No trade with JR in it will work properly on the trade machine. The trade machine thinks his contract falls under the new rules with unguaranteed contracts.

The teams would have to wait until July 6 to complete the deal, which is when the Lakers will have all that cap room, to make such a trade. The Suns would also have sufficient cap room to absorb Lonzo ball‘s contract, if they wanted to trade a draft pick rather than Josh Jackson.

Would really hate to throw zizic in there. Do not think it is necessary

Cavs might be able to do the deal without Zizic in it. It all depends how highly New Orleans values Kevin Love.

You’re crazy. If you’re waiting for a better deal to come along for Love, you’re gonna be waiting for a long time...like forever. If I’m the Cavs, I’d jump on that deal.

I don't like Lonzo but just give up the jail bird Josh Jackson for him seems a bit light. Phoenix has to cough up a bit more here.

We could ask for a 2020 1st round pick from Phoenix, either with or without Jackson, and that would likely affect the protections on the pick.

I think the return is good for the cavs,,send that extra compensation to the pelicans and it seems more balanced. Not bad makings of a deal there.

It’s a deal that makes a lot of sense for all teams and there are lots of Cavs ties between Pelicans GM David Griffin, Suns GM James ‘Champ’ Jones, Cavaliers GM Koby Altman, & the Lakers unofficial GM, LeBron James. That could certainly help grease the skids to an agreement.

I’ll say this, if the Cavs were to end up with the #4 and #5 picks, I’d trade down with Atlanta with one of them. Instead of getting #8 and #10, I’d look to get #8 and a 2020 1st rounder. We might also be able to get one of the Hawks’ three 2nd round picks in the deal as well.

My bet is Koby and the Cavs would rather help the Knicks get AD if they want him so the Cavs can get Barrett.

A 4 way deal with the Cavs, Hawks, Knicks, and Pelicans would probably work.

Hawks get #5.
Knicks get AD.
Pelicans get Love, #10 with Dennis Smith jr and/or Knox.
Cavs get Solomon Hill, Lance Thomas, #3, and #8.

There would have to be filler to make everything work but I would have to dive deeper to salaries to figure that out because the trade machine wont account for signed draft picks for salary purposes.

So.... Phoenix gives up Josh Jackson only and gets back Lonzo Ball in the process?

I would do the trade in a heartbeat.

Send Kevin and Zizic for the 4th, Hill, and Jackson

Trade the 4th and 26th to ATL for 8 and 10 or 10, 17 and our 1st next year

5,8 and 10

Draft Hunter, Reddish, and Goga. If Reddish is gone, drsft Bol Bol

5, 10 and 17

Draft Hunter, Bol Bol and Goga and our 1st next year might end up the 1st overall. You never know

Sexton, Cedi, Hunter, Bol Bol and Goga looks good to me

Sexton, Reddish, Hunter, Nance, and Goga looks good to me.

If you acquired 4, you don't even consider a trade down.

#4 and #5, you take the top two players on your board. Even if it's both Culver and Hunter. At #26, you likely trade out for two high 2nd's. One in 2019 to draft and stash, and a 2020 second.

Developing 2 rookies in the Top 5 will take plenty of resources and would really move us in the right direction toward relevance.
