NBA FINALS 2016 | GAME 7: CAVS @ WARRIORS | JUNE 19TH, 8:00 PM

index.php

What an amazing boxscore:
-Cavs went with basically a 7 man rotation in a fucking game 7
-basically squeezed every possession on offense and defense to drain the ball out of GS hands.
- Kevin Love may have played the greatest game by any player not to score in double digits in Finals history
-I remember Lebron starting to look gassed and it makes sense he basically played the entire game
Key decision by Lue to give Kyrie a short rest partway through the 4th. He had the energy to make the shot.

I might have teared up just a bit. I was at home watching, beautiful summer night. Afterwards I went out in the back yard with a tall glass of Gentleman Jack on the rocks, a good cigar, and my dogs, crickets, fireflies, and bullfrogs croaking in the pond. A night to remember, for sure. Was it Father's Day on top of everything else? Seems like I talked to my kids earlier that day on top of everything else. What a good day it was.
I'd never seen that clip before, but I remember the call. I didn't realize Fred was crying.

I was screaming my head off. I was watching in the family room by myself. No one else in my family cared.

I watched the Browns 1964 world championship with my Dad using a rotating antenna pointed toward Toledo. I felt the full weight of that 52 years.

Thanks to @jjvors for gravedigging and liking posts from the last three minutes of the game. I got goosebumps just reading everyone's reactions :chuckle:
I stayed up till midnight last night reading through the first 130 pages of the thread. I'll read the rest today. What memories! I'm sorry I wasn't here at the time.

Yes. Some quotes: "That was the best block I've ever seen in my life." "KYRIE!!!" "Great defense by Love"

Since I wasn't here 5 1/2 years ago, I'll tell you now: as soon as Lebron blocked the shot and we got it and a timeout, I was sure we would win. It was such a momentum changer.

Then when Kyrie was dribbling against Curry, I was sure Kyrie would hit a three over him.

Then when Curry was dribbling against Love, I was sure he'd score over Love.

Well, 2/3 hunches right isn't bad. It's the best possible outcome.

I rewatched the entirety of Game 7 yesterday while at work. Needed those feel good vibes :)

Wow....

One of the posts you liked was me saying I am going to name my next dog and firstborn child "Kyrie", and that "I wish I had liquor"

- Did get a dog but named it "Kylie" - didn't even think of the consonance with "Kyrie"

- First born child was not named Kyrie (nor his birth month)

- And I am no longer a semi-functioning alcoholic!

Crazy...

I think LeBron was at half when Iggy went up for that layup.... He just activated Beast Mode and stole the souls of the people from the Bay.
No doubt everyone has seen replays of The Block. Lebron started at the free-throw line, turned on the jets, slowed down in the lane, to get in the right position to block either side of Iggy, got 12 feet in the air (his hand was even with the top of the square, and blocked it about a quarter-inch from the backboard.

I thought it was goaltending when I first saw it. Only on slow-motion replay can you see how close the ball was to the backboard.

The best analysis of The Block was by Richard Jefferson, who watched from the sidelines.

It was so intense dude. I don’t think I slept much for like 2 nights before the game and I was nervous that whole day.

When the clock hit zero, I let out the largest primal guttural scream from the depth of my inner most being so loud it was scary dude lol. It was not human.

I just lost control. I was weeping so hard after that it was such a surreal moment.

It was the culmination of all the years of passion built up to create the ultimate moment, against the most impossible of odds, to break the curse, to deliver a championship of pure glory.

Going into game 7 I was pretty positive. I knew it'd be a poor shooting game because everyone would tighten up. I knew the defense would be tough on both sides. I knew Lebron would deliver in the 4th. I knew Lebron has never lost a game 7. So I figured if we were close in the 4th, we'd probably win it.

Also, I knew GSW hadn't had their backs against the wall in a game 7--ever. When they came back against OKC, they won fairly comfortably.

The game went pretty much as I thought. I got really antsy in the 4th after we clanked shot after shot. Their defense was really good. Then they got the turnover and Iggy was out on the break. I had conceded him the basket. Then WHAM! "BLOCKED BY JAMES".

After that, I was sure we'd win.

What happened to Kyrie lol I just rewatched this series and he is so well spoken and not an idiot
