NBA FINALS 2016 | GAME 7: CAVS @ WARRIORS | JUNE 19TH, 8:00 PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Happy Father's Day! Look at what I'm celebrating! My best Father's Day gift ever! Thank you, 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers!

Watching game 7 again, Kyrie almost always brought the ball up the floor unless Bron saw a break opportunity after he rebounded.

The Cavs' defense was stellar. None of the shooters had room to shoot. Everyone was defending outside the 3-point line. Cuts were usually followed aggressively, except when we blew a switch assignment.

Still watching in the 1st quarter. Lebron and Kyrie running a 2 man game, pick and roll and give and go. They obviously trust each other a great deal. GSW doubled Lebron in the post with Draymond and Iggy and Draymond got a steal. Lebron's up to 3 turnovers in the 1st.

Harrison Barnes having a crummy game, 1/4.

First quarter ends with Cavs ahead, hitting 5 free throws in the last couple of minutes. K Love has 7 rebounds. Warriors have 5 3s, but not much else. Cavs up 23-22. Lots of defense.

First quarter ends with Cavs ahead, hitting 5 free throws in the last couple of minutes. K Love has 5 points 7 rebounds. Lebron has 6 points, 6 rebounds. Warriors have 5 3s, but not much else. Cavs up 23-22. Lots of defense.

2nd quarter ends. Draymond is 5-5 from 3 with 22 points. Lebron has 12. Our offense looked really ineffective in the 2nd quarter, especially when Love wasn't on the floor.

Draymond and Iggy are very tough on defense. Cleveland down 7, 49-42. Our defense is keeping us in the game.

I remember hearing after the game Ty Lue yelling at Lebron, saying "We need more from you!" at halftime. Lebron said he was surprised, he thought he'd played well. But he wasn't good enough in the first half.

Behind 8 straight points on 3 buckets by JR Smith, the Cavs tie up the game in the first 3 minutes. I give credit to Lebron and Kyrie working to get JR the ball. The other bucket was by Kyrie.

GSW has 5 straight points because of Curry. Lue calls a timeout and Cleveland goes on a 10-0 run, courtesy of Kyrie, who's playing great defense and is unstoppable in the open floor and going to the rim. Kyrie has 9 in the quarter, 18 in the game. Lebron has 9 assists. Cleveland up 6, 65-59.

Love's defense has been outstanding too. He's forcing on all the picks, covering Curry and Klay well beyond the 3-point line. GSW passes inside or crosscourt are deflected or picked off.

GSW goes on a run and ties the game at 71. Cavs' timeout.
Iggy back in, for GSW's small lineup.

After 3, GSW up 76-75. Their small ball lineup is working for them, but Tristan is having his way on the boards and on offense.

Lebron is not the mid-range monster he was in 2018-to the current date. GSW has been thwarting him by double-teaming him as soon as he posts up or goes into the lane. That's opened things up for Kyrie and JR Smith and Tristan.

What triggered this?

Someone do the Browns 1964 championship next.

Golden State goes up 4 in the 4th, and James responds with 3-3 FTs and a 3-pointer to put Cleveland up. GSW immediately ties the game on a Klay layup. Now 89-89 with 4 minutes left.

Less than 3 minutes left, 89-89. Lebron has a triple-double. Draymond is the star for the Warriors. Everyone is playing elite defense.

The Block comes at 1:40 to go. Ty Lue calls a timeout at 1:05. Game still tied at 89. Green has 32-14-9

Everyone has been short arming the ball over the last 2 minutes. Lebron, Kyrie, and Curry missed the rim on a well-defended 3.
