NBA FINALS 2023: Miami Heat vs Denver Nuggets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Miami got 18 more shots but only 2 free throws!

Jokic is such a pleasure to watch. Passes, shoots, rebounds, sets picks. He’s not explosive or athletic but who cares.

He reminds me a lot of Larry Bird. Not athletic, but just so skilled. In reality, that's what basketball is about. Not jumping out of a gym. But great fundamentals and great skillsets.

You look at the all-time greats, Jordan's Bird's, Magic's, LeBron's, their skillsets were/are elite.

Denver took it easy in the 4th, they cruised tonigh. Heat have no chance. Denver has by far the best player and he's got a squad behind him.

Wow Miami’s undrafted foursome 8-36 with only Vincent looking even passable. I guess maybe they aren’t unstoppable after all

He's Bird but 7 feet tall and a better passer. Far and away the best player in the league

Jokic is also humble and willing to do whatever is needed to win. Didn’t focus on his own scoring until the fourth when his teammates faltered and he needed to score. He had great BBIQ and a team first mindset. That’s far more important than a 42” vertical leap.

Bird was much more conventionally athletic than Jokic I think, but Jokic is way bigger and stronger.

Not sure there’s a good comp to Jokic in league history, except perhaps for peoples wistful fantasies of what a peak Arvydas Sabonis actually in the NBA (and not smoking cigarettes at halftime) might have looked like, which doesn’t count IMO

Unless something weird happens, he's going to go down as the greatest finisher in the history of the league. It's ultimately what makes him a level above as a passer. It's kind of like LeBron's ability to attack the basket in his prime made him an even more lethal passer because teams had to shift their defense to try and stop it.

Denver’s offense gives me the similar terror of the peak Warriors.
