NBA Finals Game 2: Cleveland Cavaliers @ Golden State Warriors - Sunday, June 5th @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
well, contest winners updated on 2nd post...

sigh...losing this game sucks

Tyrone Lue wants to run more lol. The only way to beat this team is to muck the game up, like they did in the 1st quarter and half the 3rd quarter. Problem is Cavs run absolutely no offense. Do they even run any plays?

We should run more. Have you seen our half court offense?

OKC showed that a frantic pace and constant pressure bothered GSW. Our grind it out, nobody makes a move until the shot clock is short offense has no chance. They have too much length, too much size and get too much respect from the refs.

Can you find a team with a bunch of these players on it? Find them on OKC. Westbrook, when he's dialed in. Now, who after that scores "on their own" and plays "good to great defense?" San Antonio has.......one? Again, just one? These players are both rare and expensive.

Players who are plus offense and plus defense are rare and expensive. But a two way player is just someone who is not a minus on either side (offense or defense). Can defend at a competent / league average level and can score when not paid much attention by the opposing defense. OKC has a ton of those guys. We have very few.

The worst part of tonight is Kerr not playing Andy...keeping him fresh to put in the killer dagger with 30 seconds to go in Game 5...

OKC was up 3-1 and Golden State came back to win 4-3. So how the %$#^ does anyone beat them at this point. If we can't protect home-court, then that becomes a serious question for not just us but the entire NBA.
Yup. It's really a shame. I could really see us up 2-0 against the Thunder with home court. Instead we're down 0-2.

Refs have had nothing to do with this series. Sure they make some bad calls, but the Cavs have been shit on both ends of the floor. Until that changes, the games won't.

You are absolutely right with respect to this game, But Game 1 we were screwed and demoralized due to bad refereeing - esp when we were making the run. They could not spot a blatant flop, come on man!

Fuck all the fairweather fans masquerading around the wrong website.

I don't watch the Cavs because they're in the Finals again or playing well, I watch them because I'm a die-hard Cleveland Cavalier fan and I have to fucking watch.

Yeah..... I'm playing the Real Cavs Fans card. A lot of you have me questioning your fucking credentials.

I think you're mis-interpreting what I'm saying, or perhaps I'm not stating it in the proper way. I love the Cavs. As you can see by my join date I officially hopped on board prior to the 2010 playoffs, but I lurked for a long time prior.

I suffered through watching some of the worst basketball I've ever seen in my life as a Cavs fan. Those Darius Miles / Ricky Davis / Tractor Trailer (RIP) teams were atrocious. As you can also see by my join date, the majority of my posts took place in the post-LeBron era. In fact, I stopped posting as frequently once LeBron came back because all of the band-wagon fans his return brought.

I had to shut tonight's game off three minutes into the 3rd. As a long-suffering Cleveland fan, I couldn't take the torture.

Truthfully, I'd rather watch a team of scrubs play their heart out than watch a team of All-Stars show no interest in the game. At least show some fucking heart. At least make it look like you give two shits. If you're getting punched in the mouth, fight back. We swept Detroit, but they at least didn't take it kindly. This team looks like they enjoy getting pounded.

To have someone call me a fair-weather fan because I'm upset with a high-paid team underperforming is a bit of a joke. Perhaps you need to check your own blind loyalty and remove the wine colored glasses.

This team is severely flawed and would need probably the biggest miracle in the history of the NBA to even make this a series. It's not like we're facing the sisters of the poor. This is the mid 90's Bulls vs. the Jazz. Even though the Jazz had some great players, everyone (sans the Jazz fans) knew the Bulls were going to win those series. Not really any different this year.

Well you've just changed the qualifications of the types of player the poster I quoted set forth.

But hell, Iman Shumpert can score when not paid much attention to. Mozgov can too. I mean if this is the defintion, play defense at an average level and score when left alone.....we've got those guys.

The issue that basically every team has against Golden State is, using the first guy's criteria, Golden State is the only team with TWO of those players. Both Green and Thompson can create for themselves or someone else, while being given attention, and play defense at an elite or near elite level.

Thompson is an elite offensive player and a very good defensive player.

Green is a very good offensive player and an elite defensive player. No one else has two guys that well rounded. Curry is a great player, but it's these two guys being on the same team that is the real issue.

Respect for sticking around through the Ricky Davis/Darius Miles era, but someone has to remind you the series isn't over.

It sucks we lost tonight, but it's a complete overreaction to say you'd rather watch the team tank than this. That's just silly talk, if you believe otherwise you can root for the 76ers. I guess they've got their priorities right.

And in no world is LeBron James leaving. That's just asinine, no coincidence it seems plausible to you tonight. That's your emotions talking.

This loss sucked, but again, the series isn't over. Some of us haven't completely written the Cavs off, it's not impossible to win two consecutive games in Cleveland (where we haven't loss a playoff game).

Hopefully you won't be too busy with the draft to watch.

GSW is just a fucking amazing team plain and simple, but it really leaves one with a sour taste because they are such pricks and they get to play the game by different rules. Gotta love Cleveland's luck too, 50 years of losing only to run into this when we finally have a team that can possibly win championships. Can't help but laugh.

Also its pretty bizarre to watch a player of LBJ's stature get disrespected by the refs like this. I mean they are basically destroying his game by letting everyone hack him whenever he goes to the rim and not calling it.

To be honest I think LBJ might be seriously burnt out mentally. Can't blame him. Life's a bitch even for someone getting paid millions. Actually money isn't worth a shit beyond feeding, clothing and keeping a person warm anyhow. He really did get sucked into a mad world and lifestyle at a young age, I don't think I envy him for it. With a bit of reflection I think its silly how hateful people can be over such small things. I mean this dude is still getting trashed for just a moment or two of hubris, as if each and every other human being on this planet isn't full of the same weaknesses, many in much worse degrees.

Ah shit, I'm just rambling. Guess I'm in a reflecting sort of mood because I just realized NBA basketball is just another small hobby that I'm gonna move on from. There were some good times to be sure, but only one life to live, gotta choose to spend your time wisely when given the chance. Much love to Cavs players and fans.

Again...not a two game thing. It's the utter domination over a two-year stretch. I thought things would be different coming into this series. Perhaps we've been watching different games, but I've seen zero fight or sense of urgency with this team. LeBron looks gassed and frustrated. It trickles down to the rest of the team.

That's the issue though. This team goes as LeBron goes, and it's clear his game has begun to decline. I'm not just speaking on tonight either. Given his age and milage, this year might have been our best chance to win a title.

Here's the demoralizing part: Prior to the series, if you would've told me that Klay and Steph would combine for less than 40 pts in both game 1&2, I would have told you the Cavs would be up 2-0. Instead, it was two blow-out losses. Pretty unbelievable.

Going down 0-2 in the Finals is pretty much a death sentence.

sellouts in red...

** @KilgoreTrout and @TheISHT tied, however, KilgoreTrout was the earliest entry to closely predict the score so he is the winner. PM me your email address. **
Bullshit.....posted sooner than me so he wins, why not pick me since although we were tied I was closest to pick one of the actual scores. Shit is rigged just like this series, I had no chance from the start.

I would say you win since you were closer on margin of defeat.

Well clearly you are considering you're ignoring his performances leading up to The Finals.

His combined stats vs Detroit, Atlanta and Toronto as a reminder:

24.6 PPG - 7 APG - 8.6 RPG while shooting 54.6% from the field
