And just to be the lone voice of support for Love, does anyone else feel that bad about having him guard either Barnes or Iguodala when they go small? Because he's honestly looked pretty ok at doing it so far.
Honestly he closes out fine and contests but once they get moving it's 50/50 at best. His D has been better than expected, while his scoring and rebounding have been atrocious. If Bogut is out Love should only see the floor when Ezeli is on it.

As for Bogut, if he's not back there to protect the paint, it's gives the Cavs the green light to attack early and often. Allowing us to dictate the pace early on. Hopefully it ends up getting their 3 defenders in foul trouble early.

In one of the biggest wins in Cavs history people would rather bash Love than just enjoy it. Just makes me shake my head.

Love was playing some of the best defense he's ever played against Golden State tonight.

He contested 3-4 shots at the rim and forced misses, dove on the floor a few times, absolutely blasted Curry around one screen and hit him on the shoulder on another, made a great pass to LeBron for an easy bucket, cheered and was engaged for his teammates.

Love isn't LeBron, he isn't Kyrie.....but he still fit in tonight and didn't sulk in the second. He didn't force or take bad shots, he kept the ball moving and just filled his role.....and for that, everyone wants to crush him. Ok, whatever.

Did he play well? No. Should he be the topic of conversation on a night when LeBron and Kyrie just did something no two teammates have ever done in the history of basketball?

Fuck no.

Irony: Last week the Tribe pummeled the defending champions, but the Cavs did the opposite.

Tonight the Cavs pummeled the defending champs, but the Tribe fell to the reigning champs.

Wouldn't mind if BOTH defending champs took it in the ass, for the next week.

Except I like the Royals so maybe not taking it in the ass for them. I would say lay a nice beat down. GS however can take it ass so many times any day all day of the week. I will make a movie or write a book if the Cavs win this titled. "How GS Warriors took it in the ass like a crying bitch."

@wuck Well done as the impromptu game thread is a Wine and Gold winner!

Was feeling pretty terrible earlier today, remembering that I picked the Game 6 thread of the Finals last year...glad not to jinx things today.

The game threads have been absolutely epic this post-season, so I'm not getting in the way of the two posters who have Game 6 and, let's hope, Game 7. :chuckle: The poster who couldn't put his thread up today sent his regrets, and obviously it worked out fine. Thanks to all.

Good interview with Kyrie on NBATV right now. Kids very mature for his age.

Can some tell Matt More and the rest of the media assholes that Kyle Lowry is not miles ahead of Irving? Yeah even their child blessed by the gods is not looking better than Irving. Take away the moving screens and GS becomes human??? NO WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!

I disagree. I would have said this prior to the series but I honestly feel like he hasn't been a liability on defense when guarding Barnes/Iguodala. I don't know if stats will back me up on that and I'd love to know where I can look at some numbers on how he's defending specific players this series.

But I'm totally against shortening the rotation even further than it already is. What they did tonight worked. Klay Thompson hit some crazy long 3s in the first half and they overplayed Curry on the high pick and rolls, but man did they D them up in the second half. Don't change that.
