NBA Finals Game 6 | Warriors @ Cavaliers | June 16, 2015 | 9:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This won't be popular, but we lost last night because of Lebron (and no we couldn't win without him, but he could have played a bit different and I think we win). 33 shots (TEN THREE's!?!). He is a smarter player then that. That is just too many shots to be shooting at such a low percentage. He didn't "have" to shoot that many shots. Many of them poor looks. He played great otherwise with the 18 boards and 9 assists-but we had a a huge advantage inside and we didn't max it out.

Our bigs played a great game, the only two players on the team to shoot over 50%. Both with double digit boards. We should have just kept going into the post over and over and over and over-make them pay for playing small. Moz should have had 20 shots, Tristan 15+ shots. We should have run some pick and rolls to get Barnes on either guy and exploit that match up. And not go away from it if they miss one shot or get stripped one time.

We destroyed them on the boards. Less turnovers, more inside play and make more free throws--we easily could have won this game and the series.
Good post.

Now let's bash Lebron!!!

Seriously we have a shit ton to look forward to next year. I hope the Warriors get to the finals again. This time with KI and KL.

When LeBron got that steal and dunk in the fourth, I thought the momentum shift was going to cause us to come back and win a game it felt like we didn't have a chance in since we played so bad.

But then GSW of course hit a three or whatever and killed the momentum, like they did all night. Really got my hopes up all the way til the end though. Heck, even when JR started making threes and we cut it to 6 with a chance to have two possessions if we got one stop.

Even though we weren't supposed to win, I really felt like we could have and had plenty of chances.

Lebron shot 39.8% for the series, not one time did he shoot over 50%....
68.7% from the line!!!
31% from three, yet still shot 7 threes a game!

I know the sheer volume of stats looks great, but this was not one of his better series in my opinion.

You cannot discount the burden on his shoulder in terms of playmaking and playing defence. It was just too much. No point really in second guessing things. Our back court scrubs either got figured out, were scared, or turned into pumpkins. We were not going to win this series no matter what IMO.

Warriors hella cocky for beating Delly, Shump and JR. I kinda hate them

The game we force fed Moz we got destroyed. Playing through Mozgov and Thompson was exactly what the Warriors wanted us to do.

Lebron went 7 for 22 in that game. Maybe we should have went even more into the post? Delly was 3 for 14, Shump 2 for 9, JR 2 for 12. 57 shots and they made 14.

We shot 27 threes and made 4 in that game.

How about rerouting 20 or more of those shots down low into Moz and TT who went 15 for 26 in that game?

The Warriors got what they wanted when they went small-that was us not hammering the hell out of them down low for a full 48 minutes.

That burden could have been less had he threw the ball into the post more. We had a clear advantage down low in this series and we did not take full advantage of it.

LeBron was inefficient. That said there is absolutely no way you can blame him for this series. Just no way. It's ridiculous that some people are doing it. The guy played essentially every minute of this series. He's human, he has a lot of miles on that body, and he got tired. Not to mention the floor spacing vanished without Kyrie and Love out there. All of a sudden he's driving to the hoop and meeting a wall of 3 defenders hacking at him.

Could he have gone to the post more? Sure. Bottom line is the Cavs just didn't have the talent or bodies to win once you lost 2/3 of your big three. Frankly I expected to get swept once Kyrie went down. The fact that we won 2 games is just a testament to how great he is. If the Cavs had somehow won it would have gone down as one of the greatest accomplishments in sports.

BTW FUCK Kelly Olynyk. I don't care that he is Canadian. Fuck him. Love would have changed this series .At the end of the day there is a reason a dude is all star. Add KLove shooting, passing and rebounding and PnR with Lebron. The entire fucking dynamic changes.

The very first game against the Celtics next season, if he's playing...
I want not only for the Cavs to blow those bitches out, but Olynyk gets ALL the hard fouls.

It is just an illusion. Just like "we should have played Marion/Miller/Harris" that even i held to for a little bit. We weren't going to win this with a back court of Delly/Shump/JR. And in a way we are good for that because I don't want to live in a world where talent doesn't matter.

I'm all for exploring a better system of player health and rest evaluation programs. But it was never realistic for us to achieve Golden State's level of success with that this year. I mean heck, it took them years to get to this point, and beyond that we also faced many additional hurdles.

We completely overhauled our roster at the beginning of the season; lacked the depth since you can't land multiple all-stars/super-stars and completely load your bench with talent in 1 off-season; got off to a shitty start due to the new team and imperfectly fitting pieces; and then completely re-tooled our roster in the middle of the season to fit together better. With all we had to overcome, we had to have less focus on rest than I'm sure we preferred (due to the need for more focus on establishing chemistry and experience with our core players, and racking up W's so as to not be stuck at the 5th/6th seed we were at midway through the season).

Fortunately for us, we should be able to focus MUCH more on health and rest this upcoming season due to a year together for our core, and increased depth assuming we re-sign our guys and utilize other assets (Haywood contract, 1st round pick, mini-MLE, trades and/or vet min signings).

That's all well and good, but no amount of rest prevents the Love injury. Kyrie, maybe.

What you get out of that is guys not being quite as gassed. Guess what though? They were gassed because they had to play essentially every minute after Kyrie and Love went down.

The key to me is Kyrie. If this would have helped him stay healthy then the whole dynamic changes because, all of a sudden, you have another guy to initiate offense.

I still don't think this helps with freak injuries like knees colliding or shoulders being ripped out. That's what the article left out, you didn't see anything like that with Golden State. You saw a concussion and a hard fall from Curry.

They were more spry in the finals, largely because they had some luck on their side and didn't face any freak injuries. Because of that they were much deeper and able to rest their guys, while we rode LeBron into the ground and had to rely on freaking Delly to be a difference maker.

I applaud what they're doing, but I still don't think it prevents either injury the Cavs faced.
