What would work ideally without staining the brick?

Looking for a real answer hopefully somewhere within the first five wrong ones.

Most people just use a sock or toilet paper bro

Also some suggestions

- Burn it off with a blowtorch (also non-fire-safe-bricks can explode so be careful)
- Pressure washer
- Brakleen or WD40
- Toilet bowl cleaner
- Wire brush
- Cooking oil

I have no idea if any of these would work or if they would stain the brick so good luck.

of none of that works, buy a color printer, print a 1:1 scale photo of the brick, press that agains the silly putty to transfer the image to the brick so nobody knows it's there.

I'm going to make a guess it's adhesive or caulk. I'm finishing up a brick outdoor kitchen so I know that's what I'm dealing with. For that I am using a scraper to get the majority and then wire brushing the hell out of the rest.
Contractor gloves, a couple different size stiff wire brushes and some elbow grease are getting it done.

Freeze it off.
