Nerlens Noel on the block

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The reason Noel isn't getting as much playing time as others is that he prevents spacing on offense. The 76ers have to use Embiid in midrange out to the three point line because Noel doesn't draw a defender out there.

On the flip side, Okafor seems to be on his way out of town because he is a disaster defensively. I think it's more likely that Okafor gets traded for pennies on the dollar.

Is it possible a good team (like the Cavs) could utilize Okafor offensively, while hiding him defensively (similar to what the Thunder have been able to do with Kanter?)

This isn't really my preferred move or anything -- but we are always going to be looking for young skill players, so you should at least consider anytime you can get one for cheap.

If you could take Jahlil and Emeka and put them together, you could have 1 AWESOME Okafor.

Maybe a good defensive team could cover his weaknesses, but that isn't the Cavs. You'd need very strong perimeter defenders so you didn't rely on his rim protection. I'd say you might be able to pair him with a strong rim protector, but Embiid would be the theoretical perfect pairing for him (spacing to the 3pt line and rim protection) and obviously that hasn't worked well.

Noel kills it again last night...17 and 13 in a win over Millwaukee....

When the 76ers were dangling him as trade bait and literally giving him 0 minutes a night, people made me seem crazy for wanting to bring him in as a guy who could give us 25 mins a night.....

At this point, seeing the explosion back, how well he protects the rim, and his versatility on switches....I think he's probably an even better fit as a starter than Tristan who continues to get exploited by his lack of size and length and is seeing about 25-28 mins a night over the last month.

I think it's rather safe to say that Noel is basicly a more athletic TT. He looks way more fluid. You all know TT moves like shit. He looks so awkward out there... I love the dude, we'd never have a championship without him, but as a starting center, he doesn't really intimidate anyone, except on the offensive glass.

Sort of like how the Cavs do with Tristan, except hiding him offensively and showcasing him defensively?

What

Errmegerrrddddd Nerlns Nerrrllll

I think he'd be a nice piece to send to NYK in a Melo deal (sans Love). Not a guy I'd really want if we had to move Love in order to get Melo.

He's young and has talent, though.
