New music thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Did you realize when you watched it that Susanna Hoffs is 61. Had to google it after I watched the video.

Holy hell, had no idea.

Did you see his acoustic Graffiti performance? Not sure if your level of fandom so I figured I’d ask anyway. Since I have you, have you listened to any of Armstrong’s side band the Longshot?

honestly only saw the video because it was a cover of the Bangles breakthrough hit written by Prince and was done with the Bangles Susanna Hoffs

New Rolling Stones song - video shows how the city is

The new My Morning Jacket album is streaming on their Facebook tonight. I didn't tune in at the start, but you can listen from the beginning. If you're a fan of theirs, it's a great album so far.

I had not heard this song since 1998 I think.

But now I am obsessed with it.

Moody Blues, very underrated.

Slow start but amazing musicianship.

Not into prog, but this is digestible. Kids are absolutely phenomenal at their instruments

Zero percent growth since their music in the 80's, and quite frankly.....that is exactly what I want. Honestly the song is fantastic. Why reinvent yourself, your audience is still old farts like me.

Great song, total throwback.

200 million records sold in their career or so, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees (who's now 74) has a new album out. Country versions of Bee Gees songs recorded with different artists. I've never been a country music fan, but for some reason always liked country songs by Bee Gees

Album includes the always brilliant How Deep Is Your Love

And this song The Bee Gees originally wrote and recorded as kids in Australia.

I love it when old songs make it back in the charts, much less claim the top spot on a chart most known for music beloved by 20somethings.

Thanks to an AllState commercial spreading the truth that some music never gets old, Pet Shop Boys are charting on both sides of the pond (though in the UK and EU they've had no problems charting).

Also, "West End Girls" is #9 on the same Billboard Dance/Electronic chart. Now they got paid a handsome sum to license their song for the AllState commercial. And now making lots of money as other songs are charting again, namely "Its a Sin."

Brilliant move on their part. They've got the brains. No one can claim they are being boring.

Who is an older group you'd like to see charting again (Disclaimer: PSB has charted at #1 on the Dance/Electro charts in the US as recently as 2016, and frequently, so I guess they really don't count in this question)?

I was delighted when Subway tabbed the Soft Boys' "I Wanna Destroy You" in an ad campaign from 3 years ago.

Robyn Hitchcock has always deserved better.

So I was looking at this thread having unread replies and thought "Hey, I should do something different and suggest an old album that I love, that I listened to yesterday"

Then I open it up, and instead of new music as expected, I see posts about old music.

Way to take the wind out of my sails.

All that being said, Black Sea by XTC is one of my favorites. It's still a crowd pleaser, even for people who aren't into music. For a 40 year-old album, that's gotta count for something. Give it a listen on the streaming platform of your choice.
