New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm finally getting around to watching season four of Gomorrah. There hasn't been a show since The Wire that was so good at sucker punching you with some of the truly horrific things that happen to characters you like.

Fargo Season 4, originally to premiere in 2 weeks, postponed....#$#*^@%^&.

They had gotten down to 2 episodes left to film before they had to stop a few weeks ago.

I would've thought they'd filmed longer ago than that, and were in post-production.

Got through the first couple episodes of season 3 of Mr Robot and Jesus Christ.

I keep telling myself it’s recency bias but this is seriously one of the top 3 shows I’ve watched. Esmail is so fucking brilliant with the subtle hints that don’t quite make the show predictable but you debate with yourself so much and even though some of the outcomes are binary the presentation of it still makes it surprising and riveting.

Just a fucking masterpiece thus far.

You know what I've said about the show. Glad you're enjoying it.

Besides the writing, I was shocked the show didn't win anything for cinematography. The white rose shot is one of the most beautifully shot scenes I've seen in movies or TV.

I also thought BD Wong was going to win for best supporting actor, and thought Rami deserved more consideration for best actor.

Seasons 2 and 3 of leftovers were just perfect. Shame season 1 was so bad, no one makes it through.

But yea better than robot season 3 which was fantastic. Similar feel.

game of thrones? pretty much every time I thought I knew who the show was really about, they killed that character.

Larry David has some disturbingly huge hands. Just thought I should mention it.
Dudes a boss.

Well I went with The Wire for this particular comparison because it's thematically a lot more similar to Gomorrah than Game of Thrones would be. It's another show about organized crime, although unlike The Wire it focuses almost entirely on the criminals rather than splitting time between them and the cops.

Going to give this a go once Mr Robot runs its course for me. I abandoned Dark prematurely — not because of quality burn I have to make a decision.

I’m not impressed with Ozark’s new season — like at all. Navarro’s character is wildly uninteresting and I’m sick of Helen dramatically referring to him as “my client” when Helen has met him face to face and Marty has known who he is for years — as if this is some sort of perplexing mystery.

I dunno man. I’m just inclined to think a real cartel would have just murdered the entire family a long time ago.

Finished season four of Gomorrah. Unsurprisingly great just like the previous three. It's impressive how the show manages to constantly kill off key characters and still remain compelling.

Highly recommend everyone give this show a go. First two seasons are on Netflix. From there, you're on your own but the internet exists and there are ways to watch things.

Started ZeroZeroZero on Amazon. I'm two episodes in and this one is definitely worth a watch if you're fans of any of the drug trade shows like The Wire, Snowfall, Gomorrah, Narcos, etc. The entire show is eight episodes all about a single shipment of cocaine from Mexico to Italy and the war that ensues on both sides in the process.

The show is based on a book by the same author who wrote the book Gomorrah is based on, and it covers a lot of the same subject matter and has a very similar feel and even similar music. Definitely worth a look if you don't mind subtitles (there is a mix of English, Spanish, and Italian in play here) and are itching for something new to watch.
