New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It’s my favorite tv show of all time and easily the best space related one in my opinion. It’s actually on most lists as one of the greatest tv shows ever made. Out of shows I’ve personally watched, I’d only put the mount rushmore shows like Breaking Bad, The Wire, and Sopranos above it. That’s how good it is.

While it's not over yet, I think The Expanse is a better sci-fi (also SyFy, at least for three seasons) show than BSG.

I've really got sucked into 'Raised by wolves' although I am only on episode 5. Seems like it is the kind of ambitious SciFi world building that Ridley Scott does so well.

I've seen all of the Expanse and to me it’s not even close. The Expanse often aptly described by critics as a poor man’s Battlestar Galactica. I wasn't a huge fan of the Expanse's fourth season on Amazon either. Don’t get me wrong. The Expanse does a lot of things right. The interplanetary politics, the interesting extraterrestrial plotline, the worldbuilding, etc. It also looks a lot better than the famously low budget BSG. It’s just that Battlestar Galactica is that rare show that completely draws you in episode by episode (water crisis, who is the cylon, election, new caprica, Baltar getting himself in trouble, famous trial episode, etc), while also having an unforgettable overarching story. And it addresses so many interesting issues along the way from politics to religion to abortion to the role of the military to so many other issues. And it just has such memorable characters and moments. I'll remember Gaius Baltar long after I forget about James Holden or Caprica Six long after I forget about Naomi Ngata. In addition, the characters in BSG all go through significant yet believable transformations over the course of the show to the point that if you rewatch the pilot after watching the finale it's kind of incredible to see how much the characters changed. Plus the musical score is up there with any tv show. The Expanse is a pretty good sci fi show, but the BSG remake is considered one of the greatest shows ever made for a reason (one of Sepinwall's ten golden age tv shows, one of TV Guide's and TIME's best shows of all time, IGN's best sci fi show ever, etc).

Dude, you ain't seen nothing yet in The Expanse. Season five is going to be fucking wild.

Yes watch the two part mini-series first that's effectively the pilot for the show.

If I recall correctly the show picks up right after the events of the miniseries.
Where is BSG available for streaming these days? Not on Prime or Netflix currently...

Is it just me or does anybody else feel like Lovecraft Country fell of a cliff after the first 2 episodes ?

Also has anyone seen Utopia in Amazon Prime ?

Season two of The Boys was fantastic, particularly the last three episodes. Between this and The Expanse, Amazon has two of the best shows on television right now.

"Remember what I told you."
"Don't be a cunt."

Words to live by. :chuckle:

If you're not watching this show, fucking watch this show. It hits that Game of Thrones sweet spot where you legitimately feel like anything could happen at any given moment. And unlike Game of Thrones, I haven't read this show's source material so I don't feel all smug because I already know, although it seems this show has changed quite a bit more than Thrones did.

Totally. Season two was such a big step up from season. Great interwoven story and much more than just violence and gimmicks.
