New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Started watching Vikings a few weeks ago. It feels like a dumber version of Last Kingdom. Still enjoyable, though. The show picks up immensely in season two when King Ecbert shows up. Not sure who the actor is, but he just goes for it and chews up every scene.

Finished The Expanse Season 4. Ready for Season 5 now.

Goddamit, they killed Ashford, those motherfucking cock suckers. They'll pay for that shit.

Vikings gets really good after Season 2. For the next few seasons with Ragnar.

Based on real people. Though their timelines are way off. Rollo lived some 130 years after Ragnar.

But they also have the best names. Bjorn Ironside. Ivar the Boneless.

Yeah, I've also been playing Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (I started watching Vikings shortly before Valhalla dropped intentionally) and an adult version of Ivar the Boneless plays a role in one of the game's sagas (basically a series of missions with a central story) where you seek an alliance with the sons of Ragnar. I assume he'll probably show up later too, but I'm still not that far into the game. He was kind of a cunt, although I warmed up to him by the end of the saga.

I just finished season three of Vikings. Honestly, the main problem with the show is probably that the vikings are the least interesting part. I'm far more interested in the English court drama and also Rollo in Paris than in Ragnar being a prick.

Very good series for 4 seasons and then kind of off the rails (imo) season 5 & 6. Not as good as TLK in my book but still worth the watch. Just don't look for a lot of historical accuracy in Vikings.

Have been watching The Barrier on Netflix and have really enjoyed it (once I got over the voice dubbing).

Sometimes the Dubs take away from it. I know I tried with the 3% on Netflix, but just switched to native Portuguese with subtitles. Also watched Dark(German), Better Than Us(Russian), and others have gone along that route. Anime is kinda split down the middle, some dubs and some subs. All about what you want to do. Sometimes it is nice to have dubs so you can listen moreso as a background while doing other things or need to pay attention with subs.

Barrier is on my list, along with other foreign films that I'll probably end up watching in Sub.

I'll pretty much always take watching a show in the original language with subtitles over a dub.

Watched the anime Erased in sub, watched the Erased live action in Dub... I've started out watching certain animes and have flipped b/c of availability or couldn't because of how different the other version is. Originally watch Attack on Titan in sub, but couldn't remember. I tried season 2 in Dub and it was just awful. I have switched from Dub to Sub on Food Wars just because certain streaming platforms only have limited Dub.

I watched Alex Rider which is free on IMDB tv and can be watched free on amazon prime app. It a surprisingly good show that is easy to watch and it one of the few shows that I've binged quickly in the last few months.

Its a British spy show that has a high schooler who is recruited to go undercover. It's like jack ryan on a smaller scale.

The Crown Season 4 is quite good.

Started the Flight Attendant last night, it's been great so far.

I was in the mood for a dumb comedy the past few weeks and so I rewatched Wrecked. Show is great. It takes a few episodes to find its footing, as is the case with most comedies, but it really picks up from there and season three, the final season which does a play on Hunger Games, is fantastic. The show is basically the same premise as Lost (plane crashes on a deserted tropical island) except all the characters are morons.

It's also got Rhys Darby in it, and he kills it as always.

A show, not a series. Story of the most absurdly underrated/under-appreciated group ever.
