New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
CBS put out The Stand.

I'm not a fan of the first episode. I just don't get them time-hopping so much. Just tell the fucking story. It's a great book. Take your time and show the character development and move through the story. I thought I streamed the wrong episode when it opened in Boulder.

It has been soooo long since I read The Stand, but it still resonates with me, even if I am sure to have forgotten some of the details. Is this a new series, or something I missed from the past?

This is a remake of the original, and IMO very bad, miniseries back in the mid-90s.

I started to get burnt out on Vikings last week and switched over to a rewatch of The Last Kingdom instead. This show is hilariously better than Vikings.

There are like ten viking characters on The Last Kingdom that are better than anyone on Vikings. Ubba is so fucking great, and Skorpa is perfectly unsettling in the best way. I love the red teeth. I think Last Kingdom handles mysticism in a much better, more realistic way too.

It'd be a hell of a debate between Alfred and Ecbert, though. They're both awesome in different ways.
Loved Skorpa. They killed him off way too quickly. Agreed on Ubba also. Vikings could have been great but The History Channel totally fked it up. Looking forward to the spinoff with Netflix running it.

as an aside if you are a fan of Bernard Cornwell his King Arthur book series is going to be made into a TV series.

Anyone try The Third Day?

I’d recommend for fans of Lost, Wicker Man, Midsommar, True Detective season 1, nice cinematography, English accents, and general cultish religious, and pagan undertones

Cobra Kai season 3 was as cheesy and stupid as season 1 and 2. Like the previous seasons, I binged watched it anyways, because childhood nostalgia. I will do so whenever the 4th season hits.

Sucked that were snubbed at the AVN's...

I forgot what a drag season three of this show can be. Glaber is just a really lame main villain because he's too one-dimensional, unlike Batiatus, who was capable of horrendous acts but also not pure evil like a lot of the supplemental Roman characters are. The third season really lacks from his absence. Glaber was fine as a foil for Batiatus, but the show probably would have been better if he had been killed off in season one and they had to introduce new villains.

Season four wisely does just that with Marcus Crassus, who is an awesome and interesting character, and Caesar, who isn't nearly as good but still far more interesting than Glaber ever was. Crassus rivals Batiatus as a likeable (at times) villain.
