New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Deadwood, the Newsroom, and all the old Larry Sanders shows are first rate. Eastbound and Down, Sharp Objects, and the first and third seasons of True Detective are worthwhile. Chernobyl is a must see show.
Forgot about Larry Sanders show. Missed it when it first ran(I think I was in HS and didn't have HBO). Watched the entire series over a few months a few years back and loved it. Some memorable characters and humor.

Does anyone else watch Mythic Quest?

Insanely good. I blew through the first season in a day.

Recently discovered Strike Back. Really enjoying it. For fans of shows like Seal Team, The Unit, Homeland this is a very good series.

I watched Startup - never heard of it before. I thought it was really good, but it ended so abruptly.

Also, Kingdom (the MMA show) was a good show that I watched last year. However, they seemed to rush the last season (IMO).

Currently trying to find if Jupiter’s Legacy is worth watching.

As others have mentioned, Mare of Easttown was great. It reminded me a bit of Season 1 of True Detective.

If any more shows on HBO are worth watching and binging let me know, I dont think I use HBO enough, i got it for Entourage and Curb years ago and keep it because its free now. But the shows are awesome and i just dont watch enough.

Its free? Via a cell plan you have or something? I got Disney+ thru Verizon that way (and I should check - been over a year, and wonder if I'm being charged now).

Yes through AT&T its my only premium channel, but having both direct tv and AT&T gives me free HBO Max.

I have to have direct tv because of football, but this will be the last year they are exclusive, i might find a different way, but i am so used to direct tv, lol

Bo Burnham's "Inside" on Netflix I thought elevated him to another level. To me, he was always a great musical comedian a la Flight of the Conchords. This put him on that Chappelle-like genius level for me.

Don't go in expecting a comedy. It dives deep into the dark depression and paranoia that came with quarantining in isolation the past year and can get pretty doom and gloom at times but I thought it summed up the last year collectively through bits and songs in a tremendously thought provoking way. Definitely would recommend.

I have been Watching Startup, 10 episodes in and it's fucking awesome. Started out slow, but picked up and it's intense as fuck.

I don't see a reason why you wouldn't like it, but if you liked Ozark then it's up your alley.

I have seen The Wire (good but not sure if best show ever, but huge law and order fan and same producer, so there is that,)
Barry Is amazing one of the greatest shows, love the dark humor, wish it would come back to finish
The Sapranos was very good in the begining but starting getting drawn out
Vice Priniciples I gave it a couple of episodes, never could get into it
The Deuce was amazing, wish it lasted longer than 3 seasons.
Treme, New Orleans is my favorite town, and this is my favorite show about New Orelans/

Never watched GOT, and probably should. Watchmen, Succession, Boardwalk Empire, OZ, never saw either, maybe i should binge, i am not too much in to SCI FI so thus i havent been motivated to watch GOT....which of these should i watch?

Edit, I really like Crashing, i just love shows about comedy and the guest stars on that show were amazing and loved the comedy. Anything else like that? I guess Hacks is the closest, the guest star level hasnt been the same as Crashing thus far.
Add Westworld to the list

So many great shows on Apple TV+

Mythic Quest, The Newsroom and Ted Lasso all make for excellent Apple TV+ viewing, IMO.

If you haven’t watched Invincible yet, and you enjoyed The Boys, you’re missing out.

I love The Boys, but haven't had a chance to begin Invincible just yet. It's on my watch queue, though. Can't wait!

Also just started season 2 of Godfather of Harlem. Anything with Giancarlo Esposito is always golden -- add Forest Whitaker to the mix and you've got a cauldron of edge-of-your-seat entertainment.

I stumbled across Line of Duty ...Brit show, with the first 4 seasons (about 6 episodes each) on Amazon. I found it quite compelling...each season being quite bingey in nature.
It is set in Northern Ireland and chock full of nuance...not the least of which is that most "coppers" do not carry firearms -- an item of which I was aware, but this was a good depiction of the pluses and minuses of such a policy.
