New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Euphoria is the highest quality show in the history of TV.

The final season of Mr Robot sits in second place.

My 18 year old is obsessed with Euphoria, i watched season 1 with her, doubt i get to far with her on season 2 or 3. Its good, but its a teen drama for sure and its a bit much for me at times.

It's a lot, but I wouldn't consider it a teen drama. The concepts are certainly mature, adult and relevant--just told through the eyes of high schoolers.

The details are what won me over. Cinematography and soundtracks are on point with any Oscar-worthy film. The way they used the first two songs of the season 1 finale (I think it was the season 1 finale... at the party, with Fez and Nate?) was awesome. Most people wouldn't pick up on it, but I love little details like that.

The way they've handled Jules's character won me over quickly as well.

Don't worry about not making it through season 3. It doesn't come out until like 2024.

It's definitely one of those shows where you have to be in the mood to watch it. It's not fun or entertaining.

Since Severance was so good, I'm going to give another AppleTV+ show a chance and start watching For All Mankind.

Have read some good stuff about it but can't recall seeing it mentioned on here.

I've watched the first 1.5 episodes and so far it's like a slight alternate reality where the timeline from our current real history was changed due to the USSR putting a man on the moon first. Not like a sci-fi/multiverse type of thing, just a fictional version of Earth/the US if this event in history had happened different.

Main star so far seems to be Joel Kinnaman, who was in the Suicide Squad movies. Was really great in a detective show from a decade ago called The Killing, which is definitely good if you enjoy a good detective murder mystery procedural set in the Northwest US.
I did the same, but made the mistake of choosing Maya Rudolph's, "Loot." Sheesh. Lasted an episode and a half and that was it for me. Absolute, unrelatable garbage of the highest order.

Really enjoyed The Bear on Hulu/FX. Only eight episodes with the first seven running about 20 to 30 minutes. Very easy to breeze through. First episode is frenetically paced but things ease up as the show progresses. I'd definitely recommend.

I guess Lip didn’t feel like leaving Chicago.

Once I learned Bezos was a huge Tolkien fan, I lost all hope for this series. With that said, you can see where the money was spent in this trailer. Let's just hope the writing and plot is passable.

To be fair, he was also a big fan of The Expanse and is the reason that show got saved after season three and it didn’t suffer at all from the transition to Amazon. Show was just as good as ever, just a lot prettier.

I'm still a grumpy old skeptic, and that trailer didn't help.

I'll wait for the reviews.

Yeah, the LotR show doesn’t look great, but I don’t think Bezos is at all involved in it outside of being a fan, and it certainly won’t be his fault if it sucks. I doubt if he’s even involved in the media production aspect of Amazon outside of signing checks or occasionally pushing for something, as he did when he saved The Expanse.

If it sucks, it’ll be because the people running the show weren’t good enough. Amazon has made enough good shows at this point (The Boys, The Expanse, Bosch, Reacher, etc.) for us to know they are capable of creating quality content.

And I'll note that this isn't meant to be any sort of defense of Bezos. Couldn't give less of a shit about him. I just don't think he has any real impact on the quality of Amazon originals. He may or may not greenlight shows (I'd imagine he's hired more qualified people to do that, though) but the idea of him being on set or in the writer's room dictating creative decisions seems insane to me.

What is wrong with you guys? Euphoria is fucking disgusting..couldn't stick with it for two episodes. is that US culture thing?

Anyways, finished The Boys. I hate Season 3 Starlight. Way too much plastic surgery done and she has lost her charm. Why did she do that to herself? she was perfectly fine before.

William Butcher continues to kill it. What a damn chad.

Homelander is the best though. Gonna have to watch Banshee now.

I loved every single interaction between Butcher and Homelander. Those 2 have such great chemistry. Jensen Ackles was also a wonderful addition. He brought that Dean Winchester charm just long enough before you realized how much of an a-hole Soldierboy is.

Euphoria is basically a more hardcore version of the UK show, Skins. I think Euphoria gets easier to watch as it goes on, there is a shock value to the first couple episodes. They really focus in on the likable characters in season 2. The 2 holiday special episodes are really good too.

I didn't notice the plastic surgery of starlight in the boys. Didn't they just take her out of costume and with less makeup in this season? She might of lost alot of weight which could have changed her appearance but I think alot of actresses lose weight after seeing themselves on TV, that's just Hollywood culture.

I didn't notice plastic surgery either. That's not to say it didn't happen, but that second sentence was enough for me to check out of the conversation. I know exactly where it leads.

Some people enjoy being uncomfortable and having their preconceived notions challenged--being exposed to new and different shit is fun and exciting to them. Others don't.
