New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know the show is supposed to be optimistic and uplifting but it's weird for a show with seemingly 10+ F-bombs per episode to be trying to teach lessons like it did in the "celebrity nudes leak" episode where a professional athlete is telling all his teammates to delete their nudes and it's never OK to look at those leaks online and Keely is getting slut shamed by her girlfriend for having nudes out there. It's just so, so on the nose.

The professional athletes get in a pillow fight in Amsterdam, woof.

Thought we'd seemingly get more of "bad Nate" before he eventually makes up with Ted and comes back to Richmond and Ted goes back to the US.

I know it's not that deep but it's just bad.
It's just poorly written.

Even when they try and do character development, it doesn't happen. They devoted that whole Amsterdam episode to character development... and they failed.

Neat premise, wholesome tone, good actors. Poor writers. At least they're killing it after 3 seasons. That's a quicker hook than I expected. Given it's popularity, I thought they'd keep going.

Arguably the worst thing, dating back to last season, is the romance storyline between Rebecca and Sam

Incredibly bizarre

Anyone watch Somebody Somewhere and if so, what do you think about it?

Yeah, I was thinking this today. This season has just been a clusterfuck. I mean, it started with getting Zava on the team and a few episodes later, he was gone. This season was promoted around Nate coaching West Ham and now he's gone too. It's like they crammed three seasons of the show into one. Reminds me of the last movie in the latest Star Wars trilogy. Total clusterfuck, total disaster.

So I was thinking about this after this week's episode, I now agree with you that they crammer in 3 seasons into 1. My guess is that Jason Sudeikis gave them notice that he didn't want to be in the show anymore and they had to figure out how to cram all of the plotted storylines in to finish off the series.

I actually think season 3 was suppose to have the team barely stay in the premier league then season 4 was suppose to be where they got the big star but it only made them a middle of the road team then season 5 is basically what we are seeing in these latest episodes.

Yeah. This entire season was promoted around Nate being the "bad guy" coaching West Ham.

And in the finale he will be taking over for Ted in coaching Richmond.

It's just a total mess. Oh well, it's not a serious show anyway.

Prediction for Succession finale - Brandon Roy takes over.

Succession ended wonderfully. Such a great show from start to finish. The dialogue was always so well written, and the actors always pulled it off. Sad to see it end.

I liked the episode but I'm not sure they stuck the landing. For as good as the show was, I'm not sure this ending will be well received.

I watched the finales of Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Barry today also and both we very satisfying endings.

The actors on Succession are all so excellent. They have to win an award as a cast for whichever show does the cast-drama category.

I was most struck by how they not only play their characters straight up in their given styles, but how they all change into different characters when talking to Mattson. They pull off perfectly that stammering nervousness with those interactions so well. It would be one thing if the characters were like that all the time, but to see the range in which they portray their characters is just soo good.

My thoughts on the ending of succession.

The reason why I didn't like the ending was how they left Shiv. I really dislike that they put her and Tom back together. They left Kendall and Roman by themselves kind of lost. Even if that felt bad in the moment, it might have been better for them long term to just be cut out from the company. What I didn't like is that Shiv is still attached to the company with Tom and is still part of the toxic relationship with Tom.

To me, it felt like Shiv decided to vote to sell to be done with the toxic relationship with her brothers but to be willing to jump back in with Tom just didn't make sense to me. It felt more depression than the other two endings. Like Kendall and Roman could move on to new things but Shiv is left still with Tom, who I think is the worse of the people in the show.

I'd would have rather seen all 3 of the siblings left on their own to end the show. All just with the open end of what they were going to do with the rest of their life.

I see what you're saying, but I think Shiv is losing still as the power dynamic in her relationship with Tom has now flipped, and she's the weaker one of the two. That might be worse than just being shut out. It might also be a flip that her goal was to be her dad, but now she's destined to be her mother.
