New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I see what you're saying, but I think Shiv is losing still as the power dynamic in her relationship with Tom has now flipped, and she's the weaker one of the two. That might be worse than just being shut out. It might also be a flip that her goal was to be her dad, but now she's destined to be her mother.
I think Shiv is losing more than her brothers in the end. I think that's the depressing thing. She makes to decision to sell and moments later decides she is willing to get back together with Tom. It's just a weird choice to me when she just could walk away from both her brothers and Tom.

For this show, it's odd we don't actually hear the reasoning behind why Shiv decides to vote to sell when she was all about fucking Tom over right before.

Watergate Plumbers is interesting as a comedic history show. It has a top notch cast that do a good job of recreating the main characters of a dark moment in US politics. Caricatures of the main players, but still not far off the mark. Justin Theroux, Woody Harrelson, Lena Headley, and Kathleen Turner all have memorable roles. This series brought back a lot of memories of the history being made during my high school days. Highly recommended.

Succession- HBO- great as always. Might be a Top 5 favorite show for me

Barry- HBO- I know the popular opinion is this season is as good as ever, but it's lost significant steam for me in the last two seasons.

Dave- Hulu- easy watch but the Dave's wacky persona has gotten stale

Ted Lasso- Apple Plus- this season is really, really terrible. Total nosedive from Season 1

Yellowjackets- Showtime- Season 2 sucks and Season 1 was so overhyped. The premise was always more enticing than what has played out. I'm sure there will be a big twist or reveal during the S2 finale after a whole season of teasing

Your Honor- Showtime- watched Season 1 in real time. Good at first but lost me towards the end. Very surprised to hear there was a Season 2 after the way the S1 finale ended. Didn't start S2 until it was all released. Nothing spectacular but Bryan Cranston is always a treat- still have a few episodes left.

Silo- Apple Plus- starring Rebecca Ferguson, who I don't think was in the first episode. Watched the 1st episode last night and first 10 minutes of the 2nd. Seems OK, not sure if I'll stick with it

Industry- HBO- binged the 2 seasons over the past few weeks. Loved Season 1, thought Season 2 fell off. Main characters are very unlikeable

Class of 09- Hulu- actually haven't started yet but I'll give anything with Bryan Tyree Henry a shot
Following up:

Succession- stuck the landing, satisfying finale

Barry- ending was very appropriate for the show's ridiculousness. Appreciated the show for what it was but definitely not one I'd ever rewatch

Dave- the Met Gala episode from 2 weeks ago was fantastic but my feelings on the show haven't changed.

Ted Lasso- no change in opinion, still bad

Yellowjackets- the last episodes of the season continued to fall flat

Your Honor- finished Season 2. Like the season before, it lost me again in the finale

Silo- enjoying this more than I thought I would. Rebecca Ferguson is great.

Class of 09- before I watched I heard some not so great things on the The Watch podcast on The Ringer network but didn't recall their specific gripes. My biggest complaint is there are several different timelines and it's more messy and confusing than most shows with multiple timelines. However, it's entertaining and I'm enjoying it for what it is.

Really have liked Platonic (Seth Rogan) on Apple TV.

Think they dropped 3 episodes last week and one today (haven’t seen this one yet) but the first 3 were great.

I thought the finale of Ted Lasso was good. They are setting up for spinoffs and probably a universe of these characters.

I do think they rush to the end and Jason Sudeikis most likely wanted to end it. I think the storyline of him missing his son lines up with him missing his kids in real life. He did petition to have his kids live in NYC instead of LA which got denied. I'm assuming that played a big role in him ending the show.

I definitely agree that class of 09 timelines are messy and confusing. They don't do a good job with changing the imagery for each timeline. Usually TV shows will make each timeline distinctly different with a different color palette and different styles of clothes. Everything is just too similar with the timelines and the makeup isn't good enough to age everyone.

Barry ended as well. I really liked it the first two seasons, but it fizzled out a bit the second two.

I enjoyed most of the final season, but the jump in the middle was jarring and that episode lacked humor, and the finale felt disjointed. I do think they tied it up well with the trailer at the end.

Everything with Hank was great.

I finished watching Waco-the Aftermath last night. From start to finish, this is a powerful mini series with too many bad guys to chose from. When I first noticed Michael Shannon on Boardwalk Empire, I never would have though he would become one of my favorite actors, but he has. He's been excellent everytime I've seen him, even when bizarrely cast in the George Jones bio series. But Waco is well worth watching.

I’d like to recommend the new season of I Think You Should Leave on Netflix. Short 20 min episodes with SNL alum Tim Robinson.

It’s delightfully bizarre and a good kind of cringe comedy. It’s a sketch show, so no major commitment and just a solid watch in my opinion.

Also, stoked for a new season of Black Mirror. Finally!

I Think You Should Leave is the best sketch comedy show since Comedy Bang Bang!

The wait for a new black mirror has been way too long.

I enjoyed Manifest - very satisfying ending

Dunno if anyone here is still watching Always Sunny, but the third episode from the new season was pretty good. Dee giving Rhea Perlman the "Cunt of the Year" trophy was fantastic, as was the discussion afterwards.

"I don't know. I call old ladies cunts all the time. We all do."
"She brings up a good point. I called an old lady a cunt this morning."
"I might have too, actually."

It's amazing how it's still good in its 16th season.

The characters aren't Flanderized. The writing hasn't gotten stale. Nobody phones it in. It's truly incredible.
