New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Started handmaid’s tale, four episodes in. Where the fuck have I been man?

What is it? Never heard of it

Have you seen Mad Men? (Mistake if not). Peggy Olson — a character from Mad amen (I don’t know her name) plays a lodnapped citizen and is forced to be a part of a cult-like community and is raped in order to conceive for elite families in which the wife is incapable of conception.

Like I said, only four episodes in but every episode has me asking questions thus far. I also have a strong preference for darker stuff, so. It’s on hulu; if access is an issue hit me up

I think it's Hulu's best original series. The only shows that Hulu has put out that comes close are the mini series of Catch 22, The Looming Tower, and 11.22.63. Castle Rock is up there too but they have only released one season of that so far.

The First could have been really good if it got renewed past the 1st season. The first season was miscalculated and didn't get an audience but really set up for what could have been a really good show from that point forward.

Damn that sounds wild. I'll add it to my list of things to watch (which is getting pretty long).

I do have hulu access but I appreciate the offer. Thanks

I just purchased access to the platform last week; once the gf and I catch up on HMT I’ll check one of these out if you’d recommend any. I’m really nit-picky with shoes though. I’m not big on fantasy or scify.

Really enjoying Lucifer on Netflix. The more you watch, the better it gets. It's been the most binge-watched show in the country for each of the past 8 weeks, which is a record.

I just finished Ramy on Hulu. I think it's the best new comedy tv show to come out this year. It's in the same style as Louie, I'm Sorry, Master of None, Crashing, and the Jim Gaffigan show. Where a stand-up comic writes and stars in a show about their life.

I feel like this is closer to Master of None than any of the above shows but it seems to have a subtle message in each show. Jerrod Carmichael is a executive producer on the show so it's understandable why there is a deep message in each show.

Its extremely well written and is about Ramy Youssef and his family. It shares a very relatable view of a community that I think most of us don't know much about.

I really wish it was on a platform that was bigger than Hulu because it has such a nice message while being real funny at the same time. Hollywood has been screaming about diversity especially during awards season so much but shows like this are so rare. They give such a relatable view and message which do so much more to bring everyone together than a blockbuster like Crazy Rich Asians or Black Panther.

Looking pretty good.

I was surprised that Henry Cavill is the star of this. I thought he was a big enough movie star that he would do a Netflix show. I then looked at his IMDB and realize if you take out him being Superman, he really hasn't done much in the last 10 years.

Apparently he's a big fan of either the books or the games. Don't remember which. I think he pushed to get the role.

Makes sense that if he was a big fan that he would sign on. It gives him a steady income for a long time and he probably ends up having the time to do the same amount of movie work if it available to him.

He feels like that kind of actor that would fade away if he wasn't Superman. Being on a show like the Witcher that Netflix is pushing pretty hard might actually help his movie career. He won't fade from view if he is starring in one of Netflix's biggest shows for the better part of the next decade.

Funny story about him. He missed the phone call about playing Superman because he was raiding in WoW.

The Boys might be the best show to drop without the massive marketing campaign behind it in a long time. I felt like this show came out of nowhere which is unusual in today's tv market. It was a surprise to me how good it was. A fun find to binge this weekend.

It's an interesting take on the superhero concept. It's basically about if superheroes aren't actually purely good and well intention like most superheroes are. The Boys are a group of normal people who decide to fight back and take down a group of superheroes called the Seven. The Seven are basically a knock off version of the Justice League.
