New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Been watching "Occupied" on Netflix. It's a Norwegian show about a "velvet glove" Russian takeover of Norway to gain control of Norway's oil and gas, which the newly-elected Green Party PM had shut off because of climate concerns.

Really enjoying it. There are a few implausibilities along the way, but it's well-acted and very well-plotted with a ton of great twists. There's a really cool usage of a video game -- I think it is Day Z -- that is integral to the plot.

Finished this. I really enjoyed Seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was shorter, much shakier, and the way they wrapped up the whole thing was pathetically awful. It ended sort of abruptly even though they knew going in this was the last season. The last 2-3 minutes literally came out of nowhere and amounted to one character just giving a very politicized speech into the camera, and that was it. Honestly laughed my ass off at how bad it was.

Got around to watching the first episode of Picard.

I like it, but can't help but feel this is going to be a 1 season show. Which is fine, but I'm dying to sink my teeth into another real quality Star Trek series.

They already renewed it for a second season but I'm hoping it's a fairly contained season 1 with no cliff hanger at the end.

I can not get over how GREAT Picard has been. The first 2 episodes have been knocked out of the park in my opinion. I can only imagine how much better it will get once Jean-Luc gets a crew and heads off world. My lord, this show is just so good.

Giri/Haji on netflix was solid if you like British crime dramas. Was fun to watch justin longs character. And the actress who played Eiko was stunning.

Curb is such a great show.

How does it compare to TNG?

More of a DS9 feel?

Are any of the star trek shows in 4k/HDR yet?

Yeah, like said above, visually, it’s movie quality. Definitely has a DS9 feel thus far. There is a dark overtone in regards to the federation and covert groups within factions and the treatment of certain beings including a main cast member from TNG. Patrick Steward maintains that “do the right thing no matter what” vibe that is how we know Jean-luc Picard to be. The secondary character also seem like they may be multi faceted.
