Curb Your Enthusiasm has officially been renewed for an 11th season by HBO.

Larry David's statement is as follows: "Believe me, I'm as upset about this as you are. One day I can only hope that HBO will come to their senses and grant me the cancellation I so richly deserve."

Okay I know this is going to seem short-sighted and downright unpopular but I can’t get through a half hour of the Shield. I don’t know if it’s the casting, the acting or writing — perhaps a combination but Vic’s character seems too forced and excessive. Like, I get crime dramas are going to have that defiant, smart-ass, “I dabble in the grey area” type. It just seems unnatural and corny as shit.

I’d venture as far to say that this seems like PERHAPS a slight upgrade over something I’d say on something like CBS or ABC. Maybe The Wire just set too high a standard for a crime drama and I went on refusing to compare the two; but this just wasn’t good at all.

On another note:

I started Rick and Marty earlier this week and it’s absolutely fucking hilarious. The way Rick treats Jerry like garbage kills me. And the episode where they’re watching the unscripted impromptu TV a la the “Two brothers” trailer fucking killed me. Brilliant shit.

The Shield improves drastically during each of the first five seasons, then sort of plateaus after that. I'd definitely recommend at least getting to the end of the first episode, as something fairly significant happens that essentially sets the course for the rest of the series. Seasons three through five are some of the absolute best television ever, and the finale is an all time great as well.

I would avoid comparing it to The Wire. They are totally different shows. The Wire is social commentary. The Shield is pure drama.

Oh yeah, it’s unfair to compare. I plan on finishing at least the first season. Because if I can finish the entire series of “Oz,” I can finish anything.

Decided to start a rewatch of The Wire. It's almost depressing watching this and knowing there will probably never be another show this good. No show has such an abundance of great characters, and most don't even come close. Jimmy McNulty, Bunk Moreland, Omar Little, Stringer Bell, D'Angelo Barksdale, Tommy Carcetti, Lester Freamon, Frank Sobotka, Prop Joe, Slim Charles, Cedric Daniels, Bodie Broadus, Bunny Colvin...you can just go on and on and on.

I had never seen much Community, but noticed it was on Netflix last month and gave it a shot. Fiance and I have been hooked and are now halfway through season 5, but it feels like it's jumped the shark.

Seasons 1-3 were great comedy for me though.

Keep going.

1-3 were the peak, but 6 and 7 are fine. There was a writers strike and people leaving the show. I think they de-canonize the fourth season by saying it was a gas leak dream?

Community is my favorite out of it, parks and rec, and the office.

I had no idea that this is what happened. I assumed that was just their way of glossing over the semester that happened between seasons 4 and 5 after Jeff graduated that was never shown in show.

Spartacus didn't get enough credit. Really easy binge

It's a really dumb but fun show. Which is fine. It was entertaining enough for me to get through it a couple of times, and the first two seasons in particular are fantastic.

We started watching dark. I know it’s dubbed, but does the dubbing get any better? I don’t care that the mouth movement doesn’t match the words, but sometimes something else seems off, even when they are facing the other direction so you can’t see their mouths. Other times it’s fine.

I couldn’t do it with the dubbing. I switched over to subtitles halfway through the first episode, makes a big difference.

Just switch it over to German and read.
