New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't remember if it is was someone here that recommended Ted Lasso to me, but if so, thank you.

*Eat that ass* and super yay that I finally found a copy of Arliss on the internet. Really loved that show as a kid

Not sure if you’re on season two yet, but be warned it kind of sucks until after the Christmas episode, which is probably the worst episode in the entire series. After that, it finds its footing and gets back to the quality of the first season.

I'm still on like episode 4 of season 1.

I decided 10 days ago to start Breaking Bad for the third time.

I am two episodes away from season 5. Biggest take away from the third watch through? How there are one off characters who I would TOTALLY watch a show of.

The weapons dealers, specifically. First the ones who sell the twins the vests? He’s incredible. And then Lawson who sells Walt the 38 Special (and later more). Both great characters.

Finished season four of Dexter. The show really should have ended there. The first four seasons are uneven but entertaining. They get a little too focused on relationship drama, though, and it's to the detriment of the show at times. The whole thing with Lila in season two is a mess and really takes away from how good so much of the rest of that season is, with Dexter desperately trying to stay a step ahead of the cops he works with and Agent Lundy.

Season four is definitely the high water mark for the series, with John Lithgow crushing it as the Trinity Killer. The way he shifts from pathetic to downright terrifying at times is impressive. And the ending brings everything full circle, which is why that's where the show should have ended, with Dexter facing the consequences of his obsession and potentially ruining his son the same way he was ruined. The next three seasons just don't really have anything to add, because the show already achieved its perfection (it's not literally perfect when compared to better shows, but it's as close as a show like this can get) with the fourth season finale.

I'll be stopping my Dexter rewatch there and picking up New Blood once it's done and I can just binge the whole season at once.

On to a Narcos: Mexico rewatch before I get to the recently released third season.

If you just started it, wait until it really ramps up. I thought the acting actually got really good once you get deeper into the story.
I just finished the season. I really enjoyed the season and loved the characters and acting. I thought the ending was perfect too.

I loved Dark too. One of the most complicated series ever but it all made sense at the end. It was brilliant and satisfying.

That last scene at the dinner table was so amazing. There was dialogue, acting, etc., But the real impact of the scene was just seeing who was sitting there, who wasn't, and then running through all of it in your head to see that it fit.

Such a fantastic way to close the loop (so to speak...) on the whole plot.

The episode where they all paired up for a game was incredible in terms of seeing how all the different characters responded. Brilliant shit.

Also, has anyone else seen this theory? I'm completely on board:

The old man is actually Gi-Hun's father. https://screenrant.com/squid-game-old-man-il-nam-gi-hun-dad/
I was wondering this from episode 1 actually. Him being number 1 and gi-hun being 456. I suspect in season 2 we will have scenes from the past. I really liked the ending and trying to show humanity over money.

I also liked Alice in Borderland especially episode 3 and the reveal of the one character’s past. But overall I preferred Squid Game.

Can't recommend Gomorrah enough. Just an absolutely brutal show, and the music cues are brilliant and always let you know when shit is about to go down.

My wife loves crime shows. I generally don't, but that sounds like one I'd watch with her so I'd give it a shot.

I don't know that I'd really call it a crime show, as there aren't really any cop characters. The cops do play into things from time to time, but the show is squarely focused on the criminals and there aren't really any major characters on the show that work for law enforcement. It's like The Wire if it were entirely about the Barksdale gang and their rival drug crews.

The show is all about the horror that the Italian mob inflicts on the community rather than a typical crime show where it's cops versus criminals.

I've been a little underwhelmed by the new season of Curb thus far, but tonight's episode was a fucking home run.

Larry taking in a Klan robe to a Jewish dry cleaner is peak Curb.

Probably should've done before I started S3 as I'm having a hard time keeping track of who is who other than some of the major players from the beginning.

I personally like Narcos Mexico more than Narcos
