Newble Becoming Available?

The Lakers have quite a few players under contract heading intro training camp and it appears as though Ira Newble may have played his final game with the team, according to Orange County Register.

Newble is a free agent as well.

Knows the system. Character guy. Plays decent D. Stays in game shape. Can play the 2, 3 and 4. We have been over all this. I am just posting an article about it.

Pau Gasol plays in the backcourt...Lamar Odom? Why is there an extra "and" thrown in between Luke Walton and Trevor Ariza. We're all going to hell in a handbasket....

We don't have depth issues really unless we make another move. In this case we can worry when that is done, probably at the trade deadline. As it is we are very deep, what we need is a starting caliber SG and/or PF. Hopefully Sasha, Wally, or Tarence work out and Hickson becomes everything we dream.

If not (likely), we have pieces for a move. But until that happens, Newble shouldn't be a blip on our radar.

My favorite Ira moment was when he shut down Dirk in Dallas. That's just last season.

Jigo and I started a two man MVP chant for Newble last year in Orlando where he was shooting FTs with under a minute to go and the Cavs up by 8 points.

We got a lot of dirty looks from the Magic fans on that one.
