Next Major Star?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was just impressed with the physical frame, skill, vision and athleticism for a 15 year old. It is too bad he does not have a high motor or play hard all the time . Hopefully someone gets him to understand how good he can be if he puts in the work. Any idea what his stats are for the current season?
WRA posts the top stat lines from each game on twitter, but I'm not sure of his season-long stats.

MaxPreps has him at 29.5 points 3.3 assists 12.5 rebounds 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks making four 3's per game at a 35% clip.

His team really isn't that good having lost to decent but not great teams in Hoban and Walsh Jesuit by 15+ this year. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him switch schools again. His trainer is at WRA as director of player development, but this was also kind of his only option after leaving Buchtel so close to the season.

I'd also like to say that I've seen him play hard for entire games before (they were throughout last year's state tournament) and it is something to behold.

He often floats around the perimeter too much settling for deep 3's.

Heard a story about an incident that helped lead to Livingston's departure from Buchtel, and it certainly doesn't reflect well on his (or his brother's) character

Guys to at least monitor over the next 2 years:

Cade Cunningham
Jalen Johnson
Terrence Clarke

The guy who really seems to have emerged to me, as a potential #1 pick sleeper is Jalen Johnson. He looked so good this year and has a frame / skillset that is very unique for a high school kid. Plus vision, plus BBIQ, nice high jumper release. I'm really curious to see what a college strength program does for him. Thing I love in his tape is his arm extension on drives......he looks like he has that unteachable ability to play through contact and over length, with the ball in his hands. Arm extension is something both Harden and LeBron are really great at and it is a move that can lead to east FT trips. Will be interested to see if he has the strength to continue to do that at the college level.

Cunningham and Clarke also had really good senior years. We'll see what happens as they transition to college but the 2021 NBA draft looks like it could be very good. The combo guard class (Green, Clarke, Jaygup and Boston) has the potential to be one of the best in a while. After the 2020 class looking like a dud, I'm hoping more of these guys pan out for 2021.

Bronny isn’t even close to this discussion. He’s not even the best underclassmen from Akron.

Every top recruit or prospect I see has glaring holes in his game. Obviously they’re all young enough to improve on their weaknesses, but it’s really tough to predict before they at least play college ball.

It looks like if he had stayed here, Bronny would nevertheless have been the 2nd best player in St.V history, as everyone was thinking he was destined to be; I just finally checked in on how VJ King was doing, and he's barely made a blip in the pros, as an undrafted G-Leaguer.

Maybe, I don't know what that has to do with anything.

He wouldn't have been the best player on St. V this year. At least not based on what I've seen from all parties involved. Plus, there was never a chance he was going to St. V, even if they stayed in Akron.

Kuminga looks interesting as a long term upside option

I really wish the Cavs could add a 1st in one of the next few drafts...looks like a huge wave of talent is coming.

Emoni Bates '22 commits to Michigan State

Without a doubt, he's the most prolific performer thus far out of the current crop of high schoolers ('20 - '23)

if Cavs are still in the high lottery by then something went terribly wrong during the rebuild no?
little chance imo he is available whenever Cavs are drafting without trading up.
but yeah already considered a special player

What do the Cavs have to do with anything?

But, since you mentioned it, I definitely think the Cavs will still be high in the lottery in 2022 or 2023 (whenever Bates is eligible to be drafted)
