As the Cavs once again look destined for the NBA Draft Lottery, I'm curious as to who people here would be excited about that is not currently in the league. I'm not talking just all-star caliber players, I'm talking change-your-franchise type prospects.

I've heard of Emoni Bates and of course Bronny Jr. And certainly there will be guys who make the jump that we're not talking about. But who's the guy we want to get in Wine and Gold over the next few years?

Bronny isn’t even close to this discussion. He’s not even the best underclassmen from Akron.

Every top recruit or prospect I see has glaring holes in his game. Obviously they’re all young enough to improve on their weaknesses, but it’s really tough to predict before they at least play college ball.

Oh yeah, I should clarify - I'm not saying I think Bronny is the next big thing, I'm just saying he's one of the few names I know. SI did a profile on Emoni Bates, which is how I know of him. Just curious if there are any potentially major impact guys we can keep an eye on.

Chris Livingston is a Sophomore from Akron ranked top 5 in the class of 2022

Best player I’ve seen live, and I was at Sierra Canyon/St. V

Transferred right before the season, right? I have heard him as a name to watch but I wasn't sure if that more local or national.

Yeah, grandpa got into an argument with Coach Futch at Buchtel and they bolted

Guys to at least monitor over the next 2 years:

Cade Cunningham
Jalen Johnson
Terrence Clarke

I think 2022 guys are a little tougher, as kids just change so much from 17/18/19. But those three guys tend to exibxit certain qualities that likely make all 3 top 10 picks.....or at least favorites to be top 10 picks in 2021.

I think Clarke can be a really special, 3 level scorer. He's a great athlete, prototypical NBA SG size (frame wise). He's a kid who, if his frame fills out, has star quality at the NBA level. He's an elusive ball handler, great in traffic and is already really comfortable shooting off the move. He plays defense, he's said to be a great kid.....I just wish he didn't go to Kentucky. I don't think he's going to be swallowed up there but I do think he would have been better served going to a more peripheral program where he would have been given a high volume role as a freshman. Maybe he still gets that but its' doubtful......but he stood out in EYBL, just from the eye test. Needs to improve but has awesome tools as a 17/18 year old.

I've heard a lot of hype around Mikey Williams, but I believe he's a freshman in HS right now, so who knows.

Livingston already looks like a grown man as a sophomore. Just checked out some highlights. He seems to have a pretty bright future . Should we start the safari for the local kid now or is it too soon??

As someone who has seen him scrimmage and play live in addition to having entire games of his on film, I'll wait until I see consistent effort before starting a safari.

I understand but the physical tools are pretty clear . Does he have a poor work ethic? If so someone needs to make this kid realize how much potential he has.

He's currently a "when the lights are on" kind of guy.

I have no idea of his practice habits or what he's like in individual workouts, but I've yet to see him exert effort in a scrimmage, and he plays similarly in less meaningful games as well.

Disclaimer: I haven't watched him since he left Buchtel in the fall.

I was just impressed with the physical frame, skill, vision and athleticism for a 15 year old. It is too bad he does not have a high motor or play hard all the time . Hopefully someone gets him to understand how good he can be if he puts in the work. Any idea what his stats are for the current season?
