Super Bowl LVI - Ohio vs Odell

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm seeing alot of tweets about how wins is not a qb stat because of Jimmy G moving on.

But then I look at Jameis and the Bucs losing because of his 30 interceptions and how they got Brady and instantly became a winner...

Idk

QB play obviously gets the job done. Very seldom do you have a Trent Dilfer/Jimmy G situation.

QB W/L record only recently became a thing because mouth breathing troglodytes like Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd and Stephen A Smith and the rest of the 24/7 sports news cycle have fetishized ring culture as the only meaningful thing to judge players by and, unfortunately, a good portion of sports fans have started behaving that way too when discussing various players or how they root for their favorite teams.

If you watched the game though Garoppolo made some real clutch passes in the 4th. Compare his final drive to Rogers. It’s obviously not that he’s better than Rogers, but the Niners designed good plays for him and he stayed within himself and just executed.

I remember you are a Vikings guy. Would you take Qirk over Jimmy G? Qirk has his faults -- too conservative/underthrows in clutch moments, has mobility but prefers to take sacks in the pocket, etc. -- but from what I've seen, he's nonetheless a more skilled QB than G. G may look like Tyrone Power, but every time I watch a 49ers game, he sucks, so I don't care how hot he is, he always disappoints. Last one I watched, it was all about Deebo Samuel, not G. And I definitely remember the underperformance against the Chiefs in the SB (Chiefs are the other NFL team I follow a fair amount besides the Vikings; I live in Springfield MO, so it's a city requirement to like the MO team here).

Trey Lance to Cleveland confirmed.
I'm down with that.
Jimmy G is the kind of QB that used to be on the Ravens prior to Joe Flacco (and some might even say including Flacco). I'm talking Dilfer, Grbac, BoLOLer level.
Luckily for the 49ers, their defense is 2000s Ratbird Approved.

Hopefully Rams handle business tomorrow. I don't want Jimmy G being responsible for keeping the LOAT out of the Super Bowl.

Is Davante Adams a FA this year as well? Could both Adams and Rodgers worm their way out of town?

Kirk has proven over multiple years he is a better QB than Jimmy G, so of course I take him over Jimmy.

Kirk’s problem is the Vikings defense sucks and has for 3 straight seasons, their line is as easy to get through as Piper Perri on a Brazzers set and has been for a decade plus, so maybe more like Lisa Ann on a Brazzers set, and based on what we’ve heard recently with the firings, his coach was no longer a good fit for the locker room.

W/L is still a team stat, down to the coaching. The Vikings fans that say “Kirk isn’t a winner” are the worst. Their team as a whole has been dog shit outside of QB, RB, WR 1 & 2, FS, and MLB the last 3 years.

Facts. Kirk is quietly one of the most efficient QBs relative to his stats but... the defense is especially ass. It helps that most of their offensive skill players are very good. Stefon Diggs left there and they still can score.

Jimmy G is basically "Ravens" grade QB prior to Flacco (and some might even say including Flacco). I mean Dilfer, Grbac, and BoLOLer level. If the Niners defense wasn't what it was, they get washed by the Cowboys.

How did you not include Flacco automatically in that list?

Aaron Fraudgers is such a good trend right now…

Flacco was a QB that gave above "game management" utility more than the others, which is why he is so overrated. The other guys were just conceding that game management was all that was required to play the position. Like the Ravens were openly defying convention and said "No, our defense WILL win football games".
