I get it he blows. But he and Gordon DID connect on a TD to get the lead. Then our defense shits the bed. How is that Weeden's fault? He played well enough for us to win. It wasn't pretty, believe me, I know he blows. But it hard blaming him when the defense gave up the go ahead TD.

Can't judge the defense as a whole on one TD, or Weeden's game on one TD lol. If that's the case you can say the defense played well enough for us to win, too. Neither were good

When the offense (one player) turns it over 3 times in 3 minutes and spots the Jags 14 points before the half...

Then comes a safety (2 more points) and puts the defense right back on the field while giving Jax good field position yet again, it's hard to blame the defense. Haden got beat and I'll give you that. But Weeden was pitiful.

Come on, the Jags offense is awful. We made them look like an actual NFL team today. The defense was not good. I know Weeden himself cost us points. I'm not blaming the defense for that. They can't stop this offense on the final drive though? They're arguably worse than us. We are playing ourselves today! And we still lose.

What are you talking about. You can't judge a defense on the final drive, that cost us the game? If you're a good defense, you get off the field against a shitty offense like this. It's absurd if you really think they were good today. They were horrible.

I'm not saying the defense played great but they were put in an awful lot of impossible situations today. Having to be perfect as a unit for an entire game has got to be very trying, bound to make a mistake at some point.

We should be off the field, run the clock out, game over. I don't expect Weeden to be Tom Brady, he's not. We were in position to win the game, and he actually didn't cost us that position for once. That's my only small compliment to give him. I know he gave up all those points in the first half, but that's why you play 60 minutes and not just 30.

I for once don't blame Weeden. Haden got burnt and cost us the game. Our defense sucked today. Offense played well enough to win.

And I'm just saying he does deserve the blame because of what he did earlier in the game. Looking just at the last half of the 4th quarter, Weeden didn't hold us back any.

Haden got burned on one play. One bad play doesn't put this loss on the defense. Weeden basically spotting the Jags 14 points in less than 5 minutes and consistently forcing the D to defend a short field cost us this game.

Not to mention Weeden's throws to Gordon were actually not very good. Gordon just made nice plays on the ball and then beat defenders.

Just coming back in here to lay most of the blame on Weeden. If you vomit everywhere and clean up some of it, you still left some vomit. Weeden turned it over 3 times and gave up 13 points and then got some of it back with 10 points. He didn't make up for the 13 he gave away.

Defense deserves the blame for blowing the lead and Mack deserves the blame for the safety. But Brandon Weeden set the shitty tone. All it takes is one play to let everything spiral out of control.

I keep going back to the Browns failing to stop a Matt Stafford scramble on 3rd down against the Lions in the second half, that play turned the momentum and the Browns lost, and then went on to have a few bad weeks.
