NFL Week 14 (12/8/13): Browns (4-8) @ Patriots (9-3) [1:00 PM EST, CBS]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe the crew that officiated today are secretly Browns fans and wanted to make sure we didn't blow our draft position like we always do. Maybe that PI flag was thrown because we were overcoming their efforts earlier in the game to make sure we didn't trot Weeden out there ever again. This game might have been the officials having our backs guys.

Flag sucked, but you gotta remember that right beforehand the Browns pulled off the rare "didn't even touch the onside kick" maneuver.

You don't deserve to win if you can't recover the onside kick.

Shove your losses and draft position up your dicks. Winning like this feels so damn good.

this was my favorite post.

Until the browns give us one 8-8 season, do not fall for it.

I saw the highlights and they skipped over it. NFL is turning into the NBA.

They showed it on Fox and said it was terrible

Media actually siding with us?

well atleast in social media anyway.

Running on the two point conversion was just dumb. That cost the game.

Game's over if they'd have recovered the onside.

Brady was going to put them in the EZ once he got that ball back with a short field. The PI just sped up the inevitable.

Completely disagree.

The D was playing well enough that they could've held New England to a FG there.

I know it's Brady, but he was looking mighty pedestrian against our D for the majority of the game & as far as his reads go. It tells you something that he had to go to Vereen and Vereen alone in order for the refs to eventually win the game.

I'm not sure how you can disagree that the game would have been over if the Browns recovered the onside. Sorry, but you can't fail to recover an onside kick and expect to win a game. There's about a sub-20% probability of recovering an onside kick. You just can't fail to execute that play.

I mean it's all theoretical. But dude...it's Tom Brady and who cares who he's passing to. He always gets it done. Not to mention, how pedestrian is someone looking when they throw for 400+ yards, including over 300 in the second half prior to the PI call? It wasn't the majority of the game that he looked pedestrian. It was the first half.

Lastly...we're talking about the Browns here. They always find a way.

Recover the onside kick and it's over. Don't recover it...and it's over.

Well, obviously I don't disagree with the fact that if we recover the onside kick, it's over & a win.. I ain't that stupid :chuckles:

And I'm not buying the "it's Tom Brady" or "it's the Browns" bit.

Shane Vereen had about half of those 300 yards in the 2nd half. Maybe "pedestrian" wasn't the right word, but whenever you have to force Tom Brady to strictly use his RB in the passing game, you're doing something right. Problem is, we couldn't stop it. But that certainly doesn't mean they score a TD on the last drive. Yes, it's Tom Brady, but it was set in stone when the PI call happened, not when they recovered the onside kick.
