I have had this week circled as "low point of the season" since the schedule came out. The official injury list on the Browns website only lists McQuistan as questionable, but we have heard Mingo, Cameron, Tate, and Skrine as possible limited players.

There are never enough defensive backs against the Saints, but right now the backfield isn't playing up to expectations. Its going to be a rough one.

Question:
If going to the muni lot, where do we get off of 90 coming from the East side?

I think the Browns will probably battle for the first half and then get dominated in the second.

This is one of the few games I could see the Browns actually putting up 30+ in.

If the secondary plays the way they did vs the Steelers this game could get ugly in a hurry and Payton won't let up. We need Haden to play to his usual self and we need a big game out of Skrine. We'll see just how good Dansby and Whitner are in the passing game as Graham will put them to the test. I'm not worried about Mark Ingram and their ground attack as I think the D line will do a good job vs that. It's going to come down to the DBs making plays and finishing tackles which they were atrocious at last week.

On offense, if Shanahan calls the right plays I think we can move the ball very well vs the Saints. As we know, Rob Ryan is pretty aggressive and will blitz a lot. If we can set them up with some screen plays we can gash the defense. I'm not convinced we will see a repeat performance on the ground from Crowell and West but I wouldn't be surprised to see a big run or 2 (15+ yards) with a lot of 2-3 yard gains in between.

Ultimately, I think the Saints are too much for the Browns and I'm not as confident here as I was going into the Steelers game. The Saints are going to score and score a lot.

Saints 34
Browns 20

Here we go...Home games have been the bane of the Browns for several years. They have played many poor games in front of a full house. Now we have the Saints. Why not the Rams? There will be a halftime and postgame show today. Skype your comments in to Skype: mistermoohead. Here's two ways to watch the shows:

Prediction: Saints 27 Browns 17. And it could get uglier if Justin Gilbert falls apart.

Glad to see Skrine will be a full go, but the Saints will find the weakest links and expose them. I agree with Moo that the Browns only have a chance if Gilbert makes a leap this week, and I don't think he is there yet. The boy and I will be in our Browns gear crushing cheese pizzas, but the pragmatic in me is starting all my Saints in fantasy football this week.

On the other side, we have all witnessed the Rob Ryan defense. I think Hoyer will have a decent week but the loss of Cameron means blitz, blitz, blitz from Football Jesus.

I can get behind this hurry up offense. It's a huge advantage when your team is smart enough to function consistently without a huddle.
